I booked a spa massage in early October. Arrived on time with high expectations since I am quite a massage addict and tried many a luxury massage saloon worldwide. To my astonishment, the Russian receptionist told me that I was denied access to the pool or any other facilities, though in solid fact that her colleague promised me in written form by email that I could enjoy access to the pools and other facilities to my heart’s content so long as I arrive early. Explained the written communications to this Russian receptionist who still insisted that she had no knowledge of it. I asked her to check the emailing history, which she did not. The massage was VERY, VERY disappointing. Just a run-of-the-mill thing. No highlights. No feature or character. The interior décor throughout the Spa center is of not-so-good quality due to average materials. The change room is dimly lit. Used bathrobes were not removed in due time. The rain forest shower experience is more like a hype than a physical treat. It is just nothing enjoyable. I do pity Cinq Mondes, which I tried here for the first time. Therapists are not of the best tranche. Reception was chilly and disheartening. Frankly, I smiled a lot more often to the receptionist than she did to me!!! And Lausanne is NOT beautiful AT ALL. If you desire to see the true Swiss beauty, visit the German areas instead – Weggis and Beckenried (near Lucerne) and Pontresina (near St. Moritz) all of which are unbelievably transcendent in natural beauty!!!

The spa is located in the magnificent Hotel Beau-Rivage. I went there with a friend for her birthday, having booked treatment for two, with massage and facial. We came early, in order to use the hammam and sauna, which were very pleasant. Green tea was readily available, and the surroundings were quiet and relaxing - except for in the wardrobes, which had a number of children screaming. The therapists were very attentive, and obviously experienced. At the end of the session, we had numerous free samples of the products used in the treatment. The only thing stopping the Spa from getting a higher rating, is that you had to pay extra for access to the spa pool.

We recently attended the cinq mondes spa at the beau rivage in Lausanne Switzerland and were shocked by the lack of communication and services at the spa. We initially received a gift certificate as a wedding gift that was for a bliss treatment. We emailed the facility and could not seem to understand what exactly our treatment would even be let alone the value of the treatment. At one point we were told that we needed two days to complete the treatment (and on the gift certificate it said it had to be on weekdays) so we thought it may even be impossible to use these certificates based on our schedule. I could not understand this since when we eventually found out the value of the certificates it would appear that the people who bought the certificate paid original price and yet we were forced to use it on a weekday. Fortunately, no one restricted us to a weekday. However, there was lots of confusion because we asked if we could make adjustments to what types of massages we could get since I enjoy strong massages and my wife enjoys gentle massages but there was no clear idea of the value of the certificate so we had email after email asking - is this possible? or is this possible? etc. Finally we were told the value of the certificate and we could go through the treatments on our own and choose as we wished. Unfortunately, to have the treatment in the same room we had to go with the exact same treatment which was shocking since when we arrived it would seem the only thing that would have disrupted the unity of two different massages would be the spray they use in the room. Which I could hardly smell except when they sprayed it over my head. I find it odd that they couldn't have come up with something to match our needs. Then despite all the confusion about what we could or could not receive, there was a huge triathalon that was taking place along the waterfront. They blocked off the main road that goes to the beaux rivage so we tried to drive from the city down to the beau rivage and still could not gain access. We eventually parked 20min away by walking and called to say that we would be late and why didn't they notify us that the hotel would be blocked off from traffic. She explained that they had tried to call. However, we had no message and no history of missed calls from them. Also, if they were unable to leave a message they should have sent an email. We are actually certain that they did neither of these. The result was that our 50 minute massage was cut short to 30 minutes (although we still of course paid for 50min!). In fact when we arrived it was cut even shorter because the lady that brought us keys for the lockers brought the wrong one for myself and then had to go back to get another one. No one at any point apologized for having our massages cut short and since we left early to arrive at the spa we in turn feel that none of this was our fault. In the end we had a horrible experience with a rushed massage. We also didn't use the pool or jacuzzi because we were originally told that we could not go to the pool (we were going to have lunch there) because it would cost an extra 60Chf but then when we arrived the lady told us we could use everything. We were so concerned not to pay 60Chf extra because it was raining outside and lunch wouldn't have been as fun that we didn't even use the indoor part of the pool or jacuzzi just in case we did have to pay (based on their communication I wouldn't have been surprised if they did this). I have been to hotel spa's in the past and independent spas also, I would rate this spa amongst the bottom of the spas I've attended for service. The facility itself is fine but the gym I attend (fittness park Migros) is much better and more luxurious in terms of pool, jacuzzi, hamman and sauna and I pay 120Chf per month to attend this place. I hate to say this but this spa is in a five star hotel and should be amongst the best but I am sorry to say that this is not the case.

It is a place in heaven. Luxury, pampering, quiet : what else ? Equipment is above the top. Massage cabins are suites. Everything is made for your comfort. I live in Geneva, but wouldn't hesitate to drive again to the Riviera region for this.

When you read the net about the spa Cinq Mondes at Beau Rivage palace, you expect to be pampered, in a quiet, beautiful surrounding, right? Let me be clear that i am not rating the hotel but the spa only. The sauna and hamman area is small, no light and therr were dirty towels and wardrobe left all over.. The tropical rain (heavily advertised) is a ridiculous cold shower with no special scent. The relaxing room has no view, 4 seats and noisy. You hear all noices from the swimming pool next door, as i was there 4 parents with kids came in and out to get an ...apple... And left slamming doors! How relaxing! The indoor pool is 13 m long and it smells chlore or else strongly in there. Thank god the massage was very good. Cindy is good therapist. However for a 50 min massage, 165chf is costly. Market rate is closer to 90chf. On top of it if you park there as i did, you are charged 12.50 chf for 4 hours of parking... Could this not be included for client? Bref. I have not tried the Lausanne palace spa but it can hardly be worse. Again this is for those of you who are mostly coming here for the spa not for the hotel which i cannot judge
