When La Suisse nears the pier you can already see the attention which was given to her during her restaurations. The whole ship is a beautiful piece of engineering history. The deck is fully renovated as is all the railings and portholes. The brass shines and the paint job is perfect. The real masterpiece is the main steam engine situated... More

This is one of my favorite things to do in the world. Beautiful old paddle boats and unforgettable scenery. There are even white swans on the water.

An elegant, beautifully preserved small boat that is incredibly clean with not 1 but 2 dining rooms and a very professional staff and even a glass window to the engine room. A perfectly lovely ride around the lake with stops at all the lake towns on Lake Geneva--greeted by swans and flower boxes everystop!

The best way to visit the Lavaux vineyards region (i.e. the domain between Lausanne and Vevey/Montreux) is definitely to travel by boat on the Leman Lake. Breathtaking views. I lived there for 12 year a long, long time ago and cannot get enough of the scenery. On this outstanding summer day, took the train to Rivaz and walked about 7km... More

I took this boat across from Lausanne to France and had a fine time. The boat was clean, friendly staff and fast. Great views of the vineyards along the way. It's worth the extra for the 1st class section if you want to get away from the children school trips. The 1st Class tickets come with 2 free drinks and... More

Very nice boat - sit on the left side benches for the best views when leaving Lausanne. Clean and large bathrooms with drinkable water, efficient bar with hot dogs, ice-creams, etc.

It is be a memorable journey across the Lake and it also touches different cities Including Evian, France. If you have a Schengen Visa you can stop by in France (As I traveled from India I carried that Visa. If you are a European citizen I don't think you need that visa. If you do not want to getting off... More

An interesting alternative to the fabulous Swiss train system is a fleet of old-fashioned side-wheel steamboats on Lac Lamon (Lake Geneva). These are historic old boats that make cruises along the shore, from Geneva and Lausanne with stops at other cities, and across the lake to Evian, France. Some of the boats have been converted to diesel engines, but they... More

Took a 3 hour trip round the lake (not getting off anywhere) and decided to pay extra to go 1st class because of the additional accessibility it offered. It was great to see the steam engine chuffing away with the cranks gleaming on the crankshaft. There was plenty of room and there were limited snacks available upstairs. the lower deck... More
