We took La Suisse, one of the Belle Époque paddle steamers on Lac Leman (Lake Geneva) from Bouveret to Montreux. We have taken other boats from other places on the lake before. It’s always a great thing to do. Even on the shortest trip there’s time for a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. And when waiting for your boat, or just arrived at your destination, there’s the opportunity to photograph these beautiful boats.
Yes, we will be back. And if you take the stopping train to Bouveret it’s just a short stroll to the boat stop. What could be better on a lovely summer day?
Also a great little trip for engine fans.

This is a fascinating old paddle steamer and you look down at the engine. The upper class deck is very comfortable and there is a bar run by super friendly staff. The views around the lake are stunning and you can go out on deck to take photos. Schedule runs exactly to time.

A great example of what happens when companies don't "modernise" due to public pressure. Fully functional renovated paddle boat, still with art nouveau décor. You can observe the working engine, have a coffee, or watch the beautiful scenery on deck. A must.

Yes, sunny day, can't be a better experience. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
On Sunday we upgraded to First Class as it gets quite busy & that was a treat. Drinks are very reasonably priced.
The views are stunning.

Friends
I have been a good few times on the evening boat that goes across around the lake while you eat on the boat.
Price of course are not cheap, but considering the extra cost of bringing you around and giving you a beautiful view around the Leman Lake, just do it once.
It is most advisable for Adult only, Couple, Family or friends. I am living now in the area, and if I have friends visiting, this is one place where i invite them. Of course the weather must be nice, otherwise it is not worth it.
Food are decent, but nothing amazing... you go there for the view, the feeling of the air and freedom around the lake.
I am sure i will go there again also this year.

It's nice to enjoy the view of the lake and mountains from this boat. I rode it from Lausanne to Evian many times and enjoyed not only the view but also roaming around the boat, observing things like the window to the compartment for the paddles. Very cool.
This boat is certainly not cheap, even by Swiss standards but does offer a nice ride and the ports on the Lausanne and Evian sides are both cute little places to walk around and enjoy. I never dis get onto the top deck because that is even more expensive.
If you are planning to stay in Switzerland for a month or more a pass ius a great idea. My pass got me onto all trains, boats, busses, trolleys and the Lausanne subway. It doesn't take long for a pass to pay for itself if you use it every day.

Amazingly beatiful 3 hour ride from Lausanne Ouchy to Montreux /Chateau de Chillon. The steam-boat crosses the sensational coast in front of Lavaux's Vineyard Terraces.

Each year, we treat ourselves to this spectacular meal-on-water. It's not cheap, but it's absolutely delicious. Prepared by the 5* kitchen chefs of one of Lausanne's luxury hotels, we discovered this feat some 4 years ago and it became a tradition. If you're looking for something special, well, this certainly is!

We took a two hour round trip from Vevey and enjoyed it thoroughly. You can purchase your ticket from the kiosk in the Grand Marche area. The Italia boat is beautiful and has been recently restored. A great way to see the lake and a number of the towns on the route.

Can you tell me if your boat cruises run everyday in November from Lusanne? How long is the cruise? and can you get off and on at different stops? Is a reservation in advance necessary? Thank you.
Capitaine_CGN

Dear Sir, Madam,
We thank you very much for your message and interest in our company. In November, our leisure cruises runs only on Sundays. The only cruises that we have from Monday to Friday from Lausanne are those which go to Evian or Thonon (in France). The leisure cruises allow you to get off and on at different stops. But, as you have many questions, the most simple is to contact directly our Infoline by e-mail at info@cgn.ch in order to have personalized advice. Best regards.
