The bridge is over of Gorner Gorge and if you have no vertigo look down you can see the running water beneath your feet,

100 % safe but you need some guts to walk this bridge. When you master this challenge you can expect very nice views and deep satisfaction.

What to do in Zermatt
Jul 2019
If you are planning to do a free & easy trip to Zermatt, make sure you travel light, coz travelling by train you need to change train at least once on the way up or down. And at Zermatt you might want to walk to your accommodation and there are hilly area or you need to climb stairs. Trip to Sunnegga let you have a closer view of Matterhorn. Not a bad idea to have a picnic at Sunnegga. To me, Zermatt is a paradise!!!

We kept seeing the bridge from the cable car and decided to hike to it, it was a really nice short hike from Furi cable car. Just follow the signs.

Totally Awesome Walk Across the Bridge
Jun 2019 • Couples
Even if you don't like heights, this bridge is very stable (no swinging) and provides great views. A nice loop hike from Furi and back to Furi. I would say kids over 5 could do this hike.

Brilliant fun crossing this bridge, even for someone with a bit of a fear of a wobble! We had a fantastic walk through the forest and all four of us crossed with success, lots of photo opportunities. What a feat of engineering. We really are unsure why it is there but thoroughly enjoyed the walk , we even had a picnic right next to the exit point on some beautiful benches.

Awesome and beautiful

If the weather is good the views are amazing, it is not for people fair of heights. We went last June 21st and we enjoy a lot, it took us 4 hours, no rush, and we are not use of walking every week

Nice Suspension Bridge, but it is still just a bridge

The playground afterwards from the way we walked up was more fun. The hike itself from Furi station is pretty easy. Some nice information on the glaciers on the way up/down.

What a bridge!
Jul 2018
We walked the Europaweg. Up until last summer you had to go through the valley in Randa to get to the other side of the unstable slope because the older bridges kept getting washed away by rock avalanches. Leave it to the Swiss to come up with an amazing feat of engineering and this massive foot bridge spanning across the entire slope. At 494 m long it is quite the walk across. It's see through metal grating so this is not for those with severe vertigo!

Scary but fun

Walked to the bridge from the cable car station and went all the way over and back again. It is quite stable, doesn't sway too much but very high. Don't look down, keep looking straight ahead. I stopped half way to look at the gorge below just for a minute. Great fun, I was quite proud of myself.
