Zermatt Village Matterhorn Area plus Mt. Gornergrat Small Group Tour from Basel

2 reviews
Experience the unique day tour within a small group to the Matterhorn area, the glacier world and all-year-place of snow in the Alps. You meet your tour guide in Basel at the train station. Together you travel typically Swiss-style by train to Visp (2 hours) and from there by the coghwheel train to Zermatt. At Zermatt you will walk through the historical part of this alpine village and get many information about the history of climbing the Matterhorn. Your tourguide will lead you after that to the « Matterhorn railway », the coghwheel train that will take you to Mount Gornergrat, the best place for stunning views to the Matterhorn. Enjoy your time at your disposal (approx. 2 hours), where you can have lunch with a 360-degrees-panorama. You will travel back together with the tour guide to Zermatt, where the return travel via Visp to Bern will take place. Your tourguide will lead you to your train back to Zurich. Our local tour guide is happy to answer all your questions during the day.

What a great first taster of skiing for my children aged 7, 10 and 12. We really wanted their first experience to be friendly, supportive and fun and to ensure they wanted to ski again, and after hearing stories from friends we know that not all ski-schools are like this. Jamie (their instructor) was absolutely perfect for them and man he worked hard, hiking them to and from the T-bar and running up to save them after they’d fallen off! They started knowing nothing and by the time we got back 3 hours later they were happily skiing down the hill and not falling off the t-bars!!! We skied in the summer and the views were spectacular ... like being on top of the world. An absolutely brilliant experience from start to finish. Thanks Jamie and Erica!

Our kids have had amazing experiences with every single instructor they have had in the 7 years we have been coming to Zermatt. We cannot recommend this ski school highly enough. Absolutely amazing!

I completed a week of group lessons with Tom, he was an awesome instructor providing plenty of feedback and pushing the whole group to improve every day. My skiing improved out of sight due to all the feedback/ tips Tom provided. I would definitely recommend Summit Ski school.

Not sure where to start! Firstly, I do not normally write reviews it has to be exceptional to get me writing as some review requests are to the habitual Kagool clad moaners who I once read described a Rick Stein restaurant as “oh it only does fish!” Has to be a top 10 numptie comment! Anyway, Tom at Summit took me on as a novice off piste skier! He shined and I discovered something I want to do more, it was tough for me but not threatening only because the quality of tuition made it so! In 3 days of tuition,1 to 1, I have learned a number of things to correct my habits and I have found that off piste is great in the correct safe conditions! One thing I must mention are the conditions, we had a complete Snow White Out day and also 2 blue sky, warm, days and therefore experienced a lot of conditions in a short period of time, all we’re good and enjoyable. I achieved everything I wanted to and a bit more, with the wish to do more! I recommend it very highly, very friendly and relaxed chat which makes it all very enjoyable. If you are looking, stop looking, and go with these guys 👍 By the way Rick Stein does more than fish !!! 😂 Have fun, I did and will be taking family and friends Ski safe 👍

I want to thank my instructor Lewis for the 2 classes this weekend! He was patient enough to see that I needed more time in the easier slopes before going to the more difficult ones. He was very didatic to make me understand my mistakes, even when I was just surviving ; ) I’m looking forward to continue learning. Congratulations for your team, Summit Ski!!
