This is a must see when in Zermatt, go get the cable car and enjoy the ride to the top, the views are stunning, the restaurant serves and excellent choice of hot and cold foods, good size portions and high quality food. Great gift shop...More
We have travelled all though the alps but never gottento the matterhorn. We are really glad we got there. Amazing hiking, climbing and just sitting back with a cold brew and taking in the view. You will not be disapointed
This was my second visit to Switzerland and I decided to see this majestic peak , the views are breath taking and pictures cannot justify the actual beauty of this place .
Cable car rides are amazing and worth the money get a Swiss pass...More
We loved the Matterhorn. It was very cloudy and foggy down In Zermatt but we went up in the morning and once we went over the clouds we saw the peak nicely. Try to go in the morning rather than in the afternoon as it...More
You can't visit Zermatt without going up the Matterhorn. The trip probably takes at least 30 minutes but the scenery on the way up is gorgeous. We had a good weather day (it was July) so we had good views from up top. It was...More
Walked to base camp - it’s manageable in around 1 hr 40
Great to see the mountain up close; make sure you walk past the hut to the wall - you can get a photo climbing the first rope.
Try to pick a clear day...More
Only viewed the Matterhorn and we were blessed with blue skies and clear skies to enjoy sunrise to sunsets gawking at her, with our in between being beautiful hikes with unbelievable Matterhorn and surrounding scenery views. Such great access from Zermatt on train, funicular, cable...More
Only in Zermatt for a night but managed to squeeze in a trip up to the top by cable car as well as the train. Highly recommend doing both the Matterhorn glacial paradise and the Gornergrat. This was by far the most spectacular mountain so...More
We were so fortunate to stay in Zermatt and have an amazing view of the Matterhorn, then, to travel up to Glacier Paradise (see other review). Fun things to do up there to, if you’re game. It’s a big day out, but worth the cost...More

We stayed in Grindelwald 2 years ago and it was absolutely amazing. Lots of different hikes to do on the mountain faces. The nice part is that you could do the Lauterbrunnen and Wengen towns as well with the most amazing waterfalls at Lauterbrunnen. Grindelwald is the most charming place with Heidi like countryside and the train trip to Jungfrou was amazing.

I just returned from all Switzerland tour end June. Fantastic place and beautiful scenery. Take time to soak in the beauty and fresh air. Eat the chocolates, combo fondue (cheese, meat and chocolate ) Don't stay on 1 hotel. Plan your route in a loop and end back in Zurich.
My suggestions below
27 Nov- Lucerne - stay 1 night (nice and different views day/night),
28 Nov Mt Titlis (take skylift to go to a play spot for free rubber tube slides)
29 Nov- Bern - climb up to Rose Garden for aerial view of Bern. Drink coffee at Einstein Café.
30 Nov- Zermatt - MUST stay 1 night. Lovely walkable Swiss village. Can take train/cable car up to get closer view of Matterhorn.
1st Dec- Grindelwald - stay 1 night - take train up to Jungfrau from here.
2nd Dec- Interlaken - stay 1 night - do skygliding and combo fondue with dinner with swiss culture show here
3rd Dec- Basel - skip this - nothing much
4th Dec- Geneva - stay 1 night
5th Dec St Moritz(if have time) - optional
6th Dec early flight to SINGAPORE
Allow time for travel, check in/out, meals, activities, etc. Don't rush from city to city. Switzerland is best enjoyed at a relaxed pace. Bring money to buy watch and chocolates which Swiss is world famous for. Get the special edition SWATCH found only on top of Mt Titlis.
Hope tis helps. Enjoy !
