You will be whisked up the mountain in no time, it's worth climbing to the top of the stairs when you are getting on at the bottom so you are first out at the top!!

You go there for the breath taking view and the wonderful walks you can do from there in the Summer. The food is ok, nothing special, but after a hiking tour it was ok. In Zermatt you clearly find better places to eat.

We were on a full day coach trip from Stresa on Lake Maggiore- tip check Meteo weather ahead of booking the trip, as no use going if weather inclement!!! Our guide suggested the Sunnegga - yes expensive at 24eu but well work the trip up. It opens out the vistas dramatically, we took a sandwich and had lunch with an... More

Visited summer 2013 We loved the journey up to Sunnegga, and Sunnegga itself is a beautiful part of a beautiful mountain.. You can hire kick-bikes and ride down again, which we did and that was a real blast, great fun. Anyway, when we reached Sunnegga we happened to have the unplanned but excellent good fortune to get there when Alpenhorn... More

We went to Zermatt on a day trip from our base in Lake Maggiore. On arrival we walked the c 10 minutes to the Sunnegga funicular terminal and then quite a long walk along a tunnel to the funicular platform. I have to say it is very, very expensive at Euros 24 for the return trip. Basically it is like... More

Took the fantastic cable train ride in the tunnel from Zermatt up to Sunnegga. This is the end of the train journey and the start of 2 cable car sections up to higher points on the mountain. All offer excellent walking opportunities. Sunnegga has a small lake below the cable station and restaurant which can be reached by a gently... More

The Sunnegga cog takes you up very efficiently to 2300 meteres. From there you can walk down to Findelen or up to Fluhalp. Not difficult, good with children but also not very natural since there are so many constructions from the winter sports, including snow canons etc. View to Matterhorn is nice and the lakes are pretty but many tourists... As part of a visit to Zermatt we took the cable train up to Sunnegga (it's the first part of a train / gondola ride up to Blauherd and Rothorn), above the town and next to Gornergrat, offering views of the Matterhorn. I'd read online about the marmot viewing area and the marmot trail (Sunnegga to Blauherd), which tell you... More

Well, got in this long cold tunnel wondering where this will lead first. Then we got in the train that is parked next to pretty steep steps. The train climbed dark narrow tunnel fast in an angle for about amazing minutes - when that was over and out of tunnel, you are in Sunnega - surrounded by beautiful snow capped... More
