Great variety - dress warmly!

Lots to do at the top (but wrap up warm!), plus lots some great walks down from the lower lift stations, with amazing close views of the matterhorn.

Awesome, don't believe the negative reviews. Just do it and make up your own mind. You won't regret it. Weather was perfect the day we went up which was the same day 150 years ago to the day that the Matterhorn was first climbed and conquered. How amazing and never forget it! Cable cars were fantastic. All huddled together for... More

Left the relative warmth of Zermatt behind, when finally arriving at the Glacier Paradise met by what was a freezing cold north easterly wind. Please dress for the cold, not like one English man (me) in his shorts, in truth gloves and a wooly hat even in the summer are required. The views at the top however are spectacular and... More

Wow, wow, wow! How beautiful can things get? We did this trip in mid April and enjoyed every minute. The ride up to the top was wonderful and the views just got better and better - even though it was a freezing -10 degrees haha. We had soo much fun and enjoyed the views and the snow. Unfortunately the Glacier... More

We took a day each for both the Glacier Paradise and the Gornergratbahn and were glad we did. I had read in other reviews that it is possible to do both in one day, but I think that would be a pity as one needs time to really enjoy the mountain scenery and the experience. The cable-car ride to the... More

Our family celebrated he 4th of July by skiing on the glacier. Wow! Great up close views of the Matterhorn. Spring skiing in the early morning and then slush by noon. Fun to watch teams of skiers practicing slalom course for summer training.

Awesome Place!!! A must see for every traveler, the ride, the views, and what a cool place. Its a such sweet tram ride that I rode it every day I was in Zerrmat. You can acsses so much terrain from here. It opens up so many possible journeys that you could take.

Took the cable car up to the Schwarzee beneath the Matterhorn. Stopped at the Hotel Monte Rosa for refreshments. Met the manager - a displaced Irishman who has lived in Zermatt for 16 years. Left Schwarzee and hiked back down the mountain to Zermatt about 5 hours including lunch in Zmutt.

I'm scared of heights and the ride up wasn't fun but it was all worth it at the top! Views were spectacular and air was so fresh. Going into the glacier with all the ice sculptures was absolutely fantastic. Highly recommend this excursion.

The multiple cable car journey to the top is exciting and has excellent panoramic views. The glacier itself has beautiful ice sculptures and is complete with an ice throne and regal costumes for you to pose for a good old touristy photo. We went in poor weather meaning that it was very quiet, however I can imagine that it gets... More
