walking in the ice

worth to visit just to have a chance to walk inside some ice caves - as we were there by end of summer it was a nice difference

I'm glad I did this today, the weather was absolutely perfect and could see all the way to Mont Blanc ande Monte Viso. Just stunning. However I won't bother with it again as the price of 100 francs is way too much. I wouldn't bother with it on an overcast day. Even more annoying they wouldn't let my young 15... More

Really enjoyed our visit since it so different from anything else. Walking inside a mountain and seeing ice sculptures is not your everday experience. They are still working on some, but the expericence is worth the extra money. Enjoyed the cable car ride up, it was a beautiful day.

Headed up to the top in the morning. The views are great, the elevation requires some adjusting to. If you are in Zermatt and don't take this adventure you will regret it. You can sled, ski and throw snowballs in the middle of summer. To save some money try and get a discount card at your hotel, online or in... More

Although it's not cheap to get to the "Top of the World" (CHF 90) its well worth it. The cable car ride is excellent alone and once at the top the views are absolutely amazing. Don't forget a fleece though, even in August it's cold 12000 feet.

Again, make sure you get a peak pass, as the Klein Matterhorn transport links are not cheap. Did several trips to the top. One of the best views of the Matterhorn as well as the stunning local countryside. The advice is to take it easy take it slowly. This is vital as the air is very thin.

The fares are too expensive. You can save 20% by taking an afternoon (past 13:30h) but still. Especially on clouded days, the fares should drop by at least 40%. So only go up while the skies are open. I advise the ticket boot girl at the Zermatt base station to pay as much attention and kindness as to her manicured... More

I know, this is not on top of the world, but it certainly felt that way, exciting view, thrilling cable car ride and impressive glacier paradise, caugth between walls of ice. Very much worth to see all glaciers surrounding especially since you don't know how much longer they will be there. Passed on summer skiing due to expense.

We stayed in Taisch and caught the train shuttle to Zermett. The gondola to the top is at the top end of town about a 1.4 k uphill walk so if walking is difficult for you then you can get a taxi or bus from the train terminal to the gondola terminal. The gondola ride is great and you can... More

Boarding the seilbahn from the top was unorganized. It was very overcrowded and there was no counting of passengers either. No staff to control this chaotic situation. The view from the top of Kleinmatterhorn was great. I enjoyed it. But this good memory was somehow damaged by this unorganized arrangements.
