Quite a big Skiing domain, Zermatt at 1600m, Cervinia (Italy) 2000m, and Valtournenche (Italy) 1500 are all part of the domain that tops at 3890m. Most of the slopes are above 2500M which is good when there's not a lot of snow. A good skier will easily visit the entire domain in a couple of days. For whatever reason, it... More

We very much enjoyed our three ski days here. Great vistas provide by excellent rides on modern lifts. The ski pistes were groomed daily and were in good condition. A wide variety of runs for all levels. Many excellent on mountain restaurants. We particularly enjoyed skiing to Italy and having lunch

We skied over here from Cervinia several of our 6 days ski holiday. The cable car and the scenery towards the top station at 3883 m above sea level is stunning and fantastic. Also the view from the panorama platform. And then the skiing down over the glacier and far down to Zermatt, Cervinia and Valtournenche will take you almost... More

The skiing in Zermatt is highly appreciated. Almost everywhere the beauty Matterhorn can be seen during a clear day. She is really magic to look at and sometimes she is dressed in clouds. She never looks the same. The slopes and the ski system are well taken care of. In general the slopes are good but there is some transport... More

what can possibly beat skiing on the Swiss Italian border with the majestic Matterhorn towering above and the convenient ski town of Zermatt below. Zermatt is well connected by train with Zurich, Lucerne, Geneva and the Ski paradise is another quick ride up by cable car. assured snow all year round.

Ok, bad first....You CANNOT 'do' Zermatt on a budget (example in a supposedly cheap restaurant Pie and Chips £32), beers average £8. NOTHING here is cheap or even affordable, which makes it a destination for many people seeking luxury. Only other bad is that Zermatt bangs on that its lift pass price is justified...My group of seasoned (20 years plus)... More
