We had a delightful sunny day to drive the Furka and it rewarded us with a very pleasant hour or so. Fairly straightforward driving up to 2400 m and several places to stop for food and drink. As one drives along one may see the...More

Drove the Furka Pass on Saturday August 15th with my wife and two teenagers. It was an amazing experience with awesome views despite a bit of rain. As the driver you certainly have to stay focused but there are many spots to pullover and reset....More

One of the more entertaining Alpine passes, it's always worth stopping at the Rhonegletscher for a quick walk inside an ice tunnel - particularly on a hot day! Not far from the main drag between Italy and Switzerland, either, so doesn't require a huge diversion...More

Furka is a classic riding road, also made famous in the chase scene in Goldfinger. Beautiful scenery all around but especially facing mountains to the east.

The climb from Andermatt starts deceptively easily. The hairpins get steeper and the views more spectacular. Snowcapped mountains, green downslopes and fir covered hillsides. Eventually you arrive in Gletch where food and toilets are available.
