Always great... for most animal encounters walk from Maran to the Arosa town (train station). And bring some nuts for the little critters.

Squirrels
Sep 2020 • Couples
This walk starts in Arosa and is one way. Advertisement is that you will see squirrels on the path. The path is easy and can be walked with a kids wagon. After we passed the lift to weisshorn we found the first squirrel. They are not tame. if you want to feed them bring nuts in shells. The path goes up gently. we succeeded in feeding 1 squirrel. you are not alone on the path. it ends at the golf course in maran. here you can use the bus back to arosa or walk.

It had recently snowed, was a stunning day. I have never seen red squirrels or birds eating out of your hand. It still feels like a dream!

When I am far away from humans ... I loved walking on a beautiful sunny day in these beautiful woods, taking photos of all those lovely squirrels ... a really beautiful experience.... as usual.. and into the mountains I go to lose my mind and to find my soul.

Walking, feeding squirrels and learning about nature
Jul 2019
We did the walk several times with the kids in summer, they loved offering nuts to the squirrels. Best do it in the morning when the animals are still hungry - the latter you get there, the more fed they are.
If you have kids, go to the tourist info first to pick up a little quizz, i.e. you can collect the answers to the questions on the walk and if you find the solution, you get a gift when returning the right solution.

Wonderful nature experience

The woods are stunning. There are beautiful streams and mountains and the red and black squirrels are so friendly that they will run up to you to ask for nuts. So worthwhile and it’s free. Just bring hazelnuts.

Its a great small walk with kids. You can get a puzzle at the Arosa Touismus office that you can make during your walk. We always end the walk with a drink at Sennerei

Nice walk!

Visited with the squirrels. Great walk and wonderful weather. BelArosa Hotel provided nuts to feed the squirrels but only saw one. Be careful, at the end of the walk you can enter the skiing area if you are not careful. The skiers appear to have the right of way!

A forest of flora and fauna
Mar 2019 • Couples
Feed the squirrels and some birds by hand as you enjoy your walk on the wooded trails. Take some peanuts and some bird seeds if not provided by the hotel. There are bird houses and staff who fill them on a regular basis. Lovely brooks add to the atmosphere.
