What an impressive place! Over 300 steps down and then back up to see what the power of water can do. Totally worth a visit and very reasonably priced.

We were originally planning on stopping here for the view, but when we saw you could go down closer via stairs, we decided to try it. It looked intimidating from the top, but it wasn't too bad if you took your time to go slowly...More

Hardly anybody travelling from Northern to Southern Europe and vice versa is aware of this gem of nature spectacle and history that the Viamala is. It has been one of the bottlenecks in the trade, at the begin an almost insurmountable obstacle until it is...More

The Viamala Gorge is a must when you are in the area. This small attraction is filed with unforgettable views paired with history as the most dangerous part of the old path through the alps.

It is a stuninng thing to see, you do have to pay extra to go inside but from the outside you get the picture about it. I would recommend this to visitors travelling here.

We had 3 hours at Viamala. Be ready to climb many stairs. The place is not crowded with others, actually we were alone there at August. We enjoyed the narrow canyon with lot of fresh white water, really good hike if you are near by

The absolute best way to experience the Viamala Gorge, situated between Thusis and Zillis, is on foot. You can start in Thusis by following the old road along the famous gorge. This 'road' is no longer drivable and is now no more than a hiking...More
