The gondola ride from Wengen takes you up the Mannlichen peak. Once there you have lovely views of The Valley and can see both Wengen and Grindelwald. At the top there are several hiking trails, a restaurant and a kids playground.

Very quick ascent to Mannlinchen (less than 10mins) and definitely worth doing the Royal Walk when you get to the top. In summer, it’s 48CHF return, so worth having a guest card from your hotel, in order to get a discount.

We loved both the ride and the destination at the top. We were lucky to be there on a snowy day in February, and you can see everything from the top including Interlaken. The ride was amazing--smooth, silent, swift--like the trains in Switzerland. There is a nice sign at the top which identifies all the surrounding peaks. We weren't skiing, but we had so much fun watching the toddlers learning to ski and photographing every part of the 270-degree view, it was well worth the cost. Just beautiful! In fact, this was in February 2016, but this site wouldn't allow us to say that.
