We had so much fun. Loved snacking on all the varieties of chocolate (dark to white) while we made our own candy bars. The chef (and people in the shop) were super friendly and made a relaxed and fun environment. We ate at the cafe before and after our class. A bonus was the fun beers they also have in their cafe, so we had hot chocolate, coffee, beer, and lots of chocolate. The favorite of course was the chocolate fountain which we had on a cup of strawberries. The only thing we didn't know (which makes sense) is it takes about an hour after the class for the chocolate to harden. We were staying very close so it was not an issue for us. In fact, we stayed in the shop and ate and drank even more. We did refrigerate our chocolate in our hotel for the next couple nights as it was softening a bit. This was a highlight of our 2 weeks in Switzerland.

Wow, what a fantastic chocolate workshop! We loved every minute and came out feeling very chocolate drunk! Learned lots about chocolate and now dont feel so guilty for eating it....totally medisinal!
Lots of mess, lots of eating, lots of fun! Our host was welcoming, funny and made us feel very comfortable.
Would highly recommend, we gave our creations to family as gifts, the girls loved handing these bars out knowing they had made it.
Great communication from start to finish. Thank you!

I had an awesome workshop with Tatiana, loved every minute of it! She was so friendly and fun to work with and gave great info on Swiss chocolate making and the process behind chocolate. The chocolate is delicious and you get to decorate and personalise your own bars. Would definitely recommend doing the workshop, it was great fun alone but would be perfect for families and groups as well.

This is a cute find in Interlaken, where you can get your chocolate fill. The cafe and dining were good, but I also did the workshop and I couldn't speak as highly for it.
If you are doing this with a family, then I can definitely recommend it. I had read about the Funky Chocolate Club workshop in pretty much every online website about Interlaken, but I would not call it a "must-see" at all.
The workshop was cute, you get an apron and a red chef hat, try different chocolates from white to milk to dark (all variations) and then temper your own chocolate and make 3 bars with your chocolate. I wouldn't say I learned anything new (cacao beans make chocolate, they are from tropical areas, etc., etc.) and you don't have to pay money to try light to dark chocolate.
I did this workshop solo, and I never have any problems doing activities solo, but Interlaken was full of American university students studying abroad in Europe and my workshop was full of squealing sorority girls taking selfies. The guide handled to balance between the girls and the lone family with a young son beautifully, so kudos to her. She was very kind and patient as well.
All in all, I don't regret getting the chance to make my own chocolate bar and decorate it, but I wouldn't recommend this workshop. The only thing I got out of this was getting to decorate a chocolate bar. Otherwise, the information provided about chocolate was very basic and the whole 1.25 hour workshop was not worth the $70ish.

Thank you for your honest review of your experience. We try and cater to all clients and needs, and are sorry you did not enjoy the other group that was partaking the class. It is a great rainy day option in Interlaken, can be fun with a group and with families too. I hope you got to eat and enjoy as much chocolate as you could :-)

Fun, educational, and unique experience for the whole family! We loved making our own personalized chocolate bars, and we left with a definite chocolate high! I think the class could have been maybe half an hour longer. There were 8 of us including 4 young children, and it felt just a little rushed considering we had to assist our children at times. Still, overall a great time!

The staff here were amazing and the output of the workshop was 3 x bars of chocolate each - which exceeded my expectations. I was confused by the description of 'all you can eat'. The chocolate on offer to eat (other than an initial guided tasting) was either 'semi' dark (50%) or milk (30%) in button form. I prefer darker chocolate personally. No white chocolate buttons on offer for those who prefer this either. Correspondingly you could only make your own chocolate bar using 50% or 30%, so I ended up with 3 bars of chocolate that I wouldn't choose to buy / eat. It would be helpful if this is was clear in the workshop description. The workshop itself was pretty basic (to be expected given the duration / age range of participants), but fun and well led.

This was definitely a highlight of our family's trip to Interlaken. After hiking around all day, the kids were definitely motivated to keep tagging long so they could get chocolate wasted. I have 4 children, (10,8,5, 11 months). This was a great experience for my entire family. The instructor Tatiana was very passionate about making teaching and we learned a lot about chocolate in the 75 minute class. Definitely a must do if you visit Interlaken.

Had a wonderful time learning to temper chocolate and make chocolate bars. Tatiana is very friendly and she has everything set up professionally when I arrived. Started with a chocolate tasting session, and I really enjoyed tasting and finding out about Ruby chocolate.Tatiana is clearly very knowlwdgeable about choclate but more importantly, her passion for chocolate making comes through when she works with you in this class. She answered all my questions patiently, guided me through the prcoess and made the work fun and interesting. I have brough back lovely memories of my trip and of this experience. Highly recommend.

Tried to book a chocolate experience for the family, uninterested staff members. We were told to leave as the staff member was busy having a coffee with a friend outside.

Dear Archit, thank you for the time to write a review. Unfortunately you tried to book our Chocolate Making Workshop when we were fully booked and you did not have a previous reservation. You were demanding a special price and special time schedule for your kids and I guess you did not have your best day (you were rude to us). Well… as we say: Life is like a chocolate - sometimes you have to deal with nuts :) Happy travels!

We will be staying in Interlaken with our kids on 29th dec-3rd jan. Do you have any activities for 3 year olds? Thanks
FunkyChococlateClub
Interlaken, Switzerland
Hello Maria.
Yes, kids love making chocolates!
Our workshops are universally popular with kids. Very young ones might need a steadying hand from a grown-up.
Even though we provide aprons and chef hats, the kids will probably be completely covered with a chocolate at the end. Do not worry, it looks great on the photos! 🙂
Every kid (3 -13 years old) need to have their own seat reserved and Kids younger than 6 must be accompanied by and work with an Adult with a ticket.
NOTE: This activity is not suitable for children younger than 3 years. Hopefully, you can come back when your treasures grow up a bit. If you insist on bringing a child under 3 years old, there is admission fee of 15CHF per child. This child must be accompanied by and work with an Adult with a ticket. Make a note during the online booking that you are bringing an infant or drop us an email. You will pay Infant on site.
Christmas is a busy time so please visit our website, read FAQ and BOOK your tickets online. The sooner you book the more options will be available.
Looking forward to meet you and your family in Interlaken.
