The steep climb up in the funicular is an experience in itself. Once on the top you will be welcomed by mesmerising views of both the lakes, Thun and Brienz. The cheese fondue at the restaurant during sunset is not to me missed. The ticket price is partly covered by Swiss travel pass.

Wow ! we took a funicular to the top of interlaken and then walked a bit to reach Harder Kulm, The view was stunning! we could see lakes, mountains and peeks with snow. Amazing! A must do when you are in Interlaken.

Nice place to visit especially in good weather when you can enjoy wonderful views of Interlaken and the lakes. It is a steep 8 minute ride in a funicular train. The base train station is called Harder Bahn and is a 5 mins walk from Interlaken Ost station. Once you reach the station at the top, from there, it is about 5 mins walking to the view points. There is also a lovely restaurant and I would recommend visiting it for its food and friendly staff. The food itself is reasonably priced and has quite a few options including for vegetarians. Before or after your meal, do spend some time taking lovely pictures, especially on a clear sunny day when there would be so much to see. If you have Swiss Rail/ Travel Pass, this funicular train ride is free. But you will need to show your pass at the Harder Bahn ticketing office when they will give you the actual travel tickets for the ride up to Harder Kulm and back.

The views are wonderful but the funicular experience was terrible 😡 At $40 each for the ride up was not worth the frustration. The staff was rude and seemed to hate their jobs. Too many people crammed into the tram which was claustrophobic at best. The ride to the top took 10 or so minutes. The restaurant advertises a “folk show” which was only for private booked parties. They did have a trio of musicians playing accordion and bass that were good. The food was just okay and overpriced. The queue to return was so long. We waited in line for 45 minutes just to have a large Asian group jump in front of us and took our place on the next tram down. People were furious and complaining but the staff just let them thru without explanation or apologies. If it weren’t for the views, it would have been a waste of money!

Wait wait wait in long queues. From the time you reach the Harder station to actually getting into the funicular plan for an extra 30 mins because of the queues. Wish they increased the frequency of the trips.

What a wonderful place. Stayed in Metropole hotel which overlooked jungfrau and in front was park where all hang gliders landed. Didn’t do usual harder Klum restaurant did Helmwehfluh restaurant which has cogwheel car up to it - or you can drive. Wonderful views and meal. Then there’s an outdoor adventure park up there for teenagers or everyone. Alphorn player in the street just topped it off. Close totrummelbach falls and many other wonderful places - sigriswill, Lake Thun etc. Don’t pass by interlaken.

Highly recommended!!! Stunning amazing view! Great service at the restaurant (our server was Alexander); friendly atmosphere. Clean bathrooms. Advanced ticket purchase was great as we were able to bypass the queue. Short walk from the Interlaken Ost station. Love this experience!

While this funicular has a very interesting ride and pretty thrilling ascent, the lineup to ride took two roundtrips before I was able to get on. Same thing with coming down. The views are indeed spectacular, but my time at the top only took like 5 to 10 minutes. There's nothing much else to do at the top other than do strenuous hikes, which is not of my interest, or to eat, which is pretty expensive to begin with. If the lineup is already an hour-long at midday, what more during the sunset? If you're short on time or if you're pressed in scheduling in the Jungrfau region, I would let go of Harder Kulm first.
