We always try to do a bike tour early in our visit to a place but since we only had one full day in Interlaken, it was even more critical to make the most of our time there.

During our pre-arrival research, we had come across Flying Wheels and communicated with them about tours and/or bike rentals. Because weather and enrollment at this time of year is dicey, we we're sure if the tour would even go forward but the people at Flying Wheels was fantastic about communicating with us as our arrival date approached and provided us with a few different options.

We ended up booking the 3-hour guided tour and, lucky us!, nobody else signed up so we had a private tour for the afternoon! Mario was our guide and was a fantastic chaperone and ambassador for the day. He grew up in the area and knew it very well. We covered a great deal of ground during the day and thoroughly enjoyed every bit of it - despite the lack of sunshine!

The e-bikes provided for the tour were brand-new and super easy to use. Both my husband and I are experienced cyclists but had never used e-bikes before. I think that we might both be converts now!

Thanks very much for a fantastic day in Interlaken Mario and Flying Wheels!!!

Highly recommend Flying Wheel's.
We hired a e-bike for the whole day paid a small deposit a few months in advance a paid the rest on pick up.
Rode to Latuerbrunnen which is spectacular through the valley with many great photos to be taken on the journey.
Got back to Interlaken and rode some part of the Lake.
Bikes were great and the battery life lasted the whole day.
Staff were very friendly and helpful, don't look any further just book with these guy's you won't be disappointed.

We looked at the reviews and our kids were very keen to do cycling in Switzerland. We tried online booking after landing in the area but to our disappointment there were no slots available. Took a chance by calling them and Mariam was exceptionally helpful in arranging a tour for us. Then on the day of the tour we were lucky to have a guide just for our family. Apparently the day was closed for booking due to hot weather but they accommodated our request. Our guide Camillo was just perfect, and we had super time biking through the country side. He took special care of the kids needs and was just perfect. This was by far the best experience of our 5 day stay in Switzerland 🇨🇭.... must do if you are in that area!

Thank you guys, keep up the great job that you all are doing!

We rented four regular bikes for two hours and were able to see everything we wanted. We zipped up to Lake Brienze first and then biked through farmlands to Lake Thun. We then returned along the canal. It was an easy loop, with just a few hills, and our teenagers just loved it. Ask the very helpful people at the shop for a map and they can give you precise directions to the two lakes.

My wife and I did the 3 hour Historic Unterseen, farm visit and Lake Thun ride, including a picnic lunch. After a short introduction to our amazing electric auto gear bikes and a practice ride our guide and (owner) of Flying Wheels Frank, rode around the town of Interlaken stopping to pick up our lunch supplies, fresh bread and local hand made sausage. We then stopped at a local dairy, just on the edge of town to try some fresh milk and select the very special local cheese to complete our lunch menu for later.

Our tour was 2 couples both from Australia by chance and our guide Frank .

We where off on a ride along the river and into the country side for some amazing views and Franks interesting commentary and insights into the local history.

The electric bikes are amazing to ride and so easy on the legs. As long as you have ridden a bike before it is very easy to get the hang of these state of the art machines and three hours of flat riding in warm conditions and we hardly raised a sweat!

We can highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Interlaken as a great way to get behind the touristy facade and get an insight from a local.

Flying Wheels also has some more adventurous day tours for more serious bikers or just hire a bike and explore by yourself.

Took flying wheels 3 hour tour in Interlaken today. We had one beginner rider (60 years old) one intermediate and one experienced rider, all over 50. We found it very easy with the e-bikes battery power assist. Saw both lakes, farms, rivers, and mountains of course. Miriam was great and Franky was extremely accommodating. We recommend this company for young and young at heart. Thanks for an amazing day!!!

We traveled to Interlaken Switzerland this summer and took this electric bike tour was amazing! We enjoyed touring the beautiful town of Interlaken, stopping at a nearby farm, viewing the beautiful teal colored lakes and seeing all that this part of Switzerland has to offer. Our guide, Denise, was amazing and so knowledgeable about this area. The bikes were so much fun and a real help to boost up the little hills. Such a great outing, would do it again in an instant. Would definitely recommend the tour of Interlaken which takes about 3 hours. Fabulous time, thanks to all the staff and Denise at Flying Wheels for providing us with an amazing time!

My boyfriend and I came to Interlaken at the end of March. I don't think we could have asked for more amazing weather. It was sunny, 70 degrees and a slight cool breeze. We actually ran into frank while running away from the neighborhood goat, Florian. Frank saved my life from that charging black bully! (Florian actually ended up being very friendly, word to the wise... if a goat chases you, you're apparently not supposed to run).

Anyways, it was perfect that we ran into Frank (the owner and tour guide for Flying Wheels) because we were hoping to take a tour of Interlaken anyways. And boy am I glad we did!!! That tour was the highlight of the trip. The bikes were amazing. Since we took the half day tour and we biked all over the countryside of Interlaken, having an electric bike was essential. if we go tired or went up hills the electric switch gave us that UMPH to keep the bike, and us, going! The tour was spectacular. We went to the countryside of Interlaken and learned so much about the history of the city.

I consider this a MUST DO in Interlaken. It gives you a real sense of the area, the views are spectacular, and Frank (our guide) was incredibly friendly and accommodating. He also helped us coordinate and schedule a helicopter ride and paragliding. He was an amazing help!

My wife and I and two friends traveled to Interlaken, Switzerland for a long weekend this May. While there we tried a bit of everything that the Swiss Alps have to offer. We hiked at the top of a mountain peak, we rode scooters down part of a mountain, explored caves, and took a long hike around one of the lakes. Of all the amazing things to do and see in this area, we all agreed that the Flying Wheels electric bike tour was by far the best way to take in the striking beauty of the Alps.

Our tour began in Interlaken at the Flying Wheels store. The staff at Flying Wheels are extremely helpful both in helping set up the tour that best fits your group or individual needs, and also in helping you adjust to the e-bike. They even offered to watch our dog while we went on a five hour tour!

The e-bike is perfect for all "adventure" levels. You can turn off the electric assist, which means you are muscling your way up the hill as if on a normal mountain bike. Or, as I'm sure most weekend travelers will appreciate, you can turn the electric assist on, making it much easier to climb hills regardless of your level of physical fitness. Turned on to the highest level, it felt as though the bike was doing most of the work for me.

Our group was led by the nicest guide, who led the way out of Interlaken and into the Lauterbrunnen Valley. She was very patient with our group as we stopped to take countless photos of the trails, waterfalls, and surrounding mountain peaks. Our guide also told us about points of interest along the way, including historically important sites, where to watch the cliffs for base-jumpers, and interesting facts about local living.

We rode up to the Trammelbach Falls and took our time marveling at the power of the glacial waters that had carved out paths in the rock over millenia. From there we made our way to a picnic area, where we enjoyed a lunch that consisted of all locally produced foods.

The Lauterbrunnen Valley is not the only tour Flying Wheels has to offer. This happened to be the best fit for our schedule and capacity (ie. not too strenuous). They offer countless other tours taking you to other parts of the Interlaken area.

We cannot recommend a tour with Flying Wheels enough. When we return to Interlaken, we will definitely be booking another tour with them.

Interlaken is a very beautiful place between two beautiful lakes. It’s nice to walk downtown along the Main Street, but, with 2 young energetic kids we needed to find something to do that will be satisfying to all...i found cycling as a suitable option!...I found “flying wheels Interlaken and had a wonderful time! They supplied us with helmets and fixed each one a comfortable bike and gave us maps and instructed us the cycling route. You can be sure about the navigation with blue signs along the way. I used also simultaneously google map online just to be sure of the directions...the navigation was an adventure and challenging mission... we took a 4 hours rent in order to enjoy the way including a cold sparkling wine on the lake ( near the golf) the view there (not only there) was breathtaking.
Must do and worm recommendation!!!
