Loved the walk, fairly easy if you've taken the cable car up. So much to see in decent weather. We happened upon a paraglider take off and it was amazing to watch.

There is a great board along the way where you can see the various climbing paths on the Eiger. Often there are paragliders launching themselves off the top and that is fun to watch them prepare and take off. They like it when you cheer them in the air 😊

The Royal walk is basically a walk up a very steep slope to a viewing platform in which you can see most of the mountains. There is a few signs that indicated the name of the mountains you are looking at. Why "royal", i think there's also a sign explaining it (but you can also Googled lol)

Not sure or can recalled whether theres a telescope for a closer look, but that's what the nearby cable car is for.

When you get off the cable car and walk to the top, you can see the beautiful scenery all around, and you can see Jungfrau, Monch, and Eiger behind you.
It may seem close to seeing, but it takes a little longer to walk.
And because the slope is higher than I thought, it is good to rest on the bench that lies in the middle and enjoy the wonderful scenery.
A hard climb to the top will give you a nice view.

You will get fantastic views towards Interlaken and it’s lake from this short hike up from the gondola station. It’s a really pretty, simple structure shaped like a crown, hence the name.

Took the cable car up at 0940hrs in mid September. Wasn't crowded. Was blessed with a low lying cloud blanket with the sun out shining strongly to get unique photo opportunities.

It is a short walk from the cable car drop off. It only gets a little steep for the last 25-50m so it shouldn't be a problem for the huge majority.

Personally this, combined with the Maennlichen to Kleine Scheidegg walk would make a highly rewarding 2-3 hrs given the very forgiving gradients.

We took the cable car from Wengen to Maennlihen and the short but steep hike up to this view was spectacular on a clear day. Also interesting information on signs along the way.

Recommended walk with great views of the Lautenbrunnen valley and it’s waterfalls, the Jungfraujoch-Eiger-Monch trio and Grindelwald valley. Walk itself is quite short, approx. 25 mins from cable car station to top.

On a clear day the view would be amazing. Unfortunately, it was mostly cloudy during our Royal Walk, but it was still a lot of fun. The "path" for the final ascent, ie last 100 meters, was quite muddy and railing was broken; this could be improved upon. Otherwise, I would highly recommend this brisk uphill 30 minute walk.

My husband and I took the cable car up from the base of lauderbrunnen to maennlichen to hit some hiking trails. We discovered the royal walk at the top! Of course we had to go up and start off our hiking day with this little warm up! It was so worth it! The views are incredible! The viewing platform itself is the royal crown at the top! It’s a complete 360 view and it’s literally like being at the top of the world! We had small packs with bread and water in them.. which we indulged in greedily at the top! I highly recommend hiking with a pack !
