The gondola cableway has a capacity of up to 1,200 persons per hour with a travelling time of approximately 25 minutes. Aside from the gondola cableway, Firstbahn AG also has three chairlifts and two ski lifts.

Horrible experience at ticket office
Apr 2021 • Couples
Both our 3-days passes (169 CHF each) did not work. The staff of the ticket office refused to change them and insisted that we just ask the guardian of each station to open manually. Only after we called the helpline (which was actually professional and helpful), they finally were instructed to replace our passes. We lost 1 hour arguing over something that shouldn’t have been an issue and we received no apology. Incredibly rude and unprofessional.

Can I walk down to Grindelwald from Bort station?
Mar 2021 • Friends
I plan to visit First Grindelwald in summer. At first I would like to take the Trottibike from Bort station to Grindelwald but some of my team they can’t join this activity. But I still want to see the beautiful scenery on this way.

So can we walk down in the same way of Trottibike from Bort station to Grindelwald? Is it dangerous to walk with Trottibike rider?

Thank you

Mixed experience
Dec 2020 • Couples
My wife is a novice on skis. I am intermediate snowboarding. There isn't much for beginners here. The blue runs are more like red and then it is quite confusing how to get down the mountain and back into the town. There is a toboggan run that we got stuck on by accident and the only other option was a black run. Hectic.

Bachalpsee is nice, but the hiking trails are a little boring
Sep 2020
We hiked from First to Bachalpsee, which is a very scenic little lake not too far from the terminal station. We then went on the Murmeltier-Trail and unfortunately the hiking trails here are often just part of a dirt road.

Hiking, by bike or with cablecar. Its worth it
Sep 2020 • Solo
Easy to arrive from zurich Hbf to Grindelwands First. Its was stunning. The view was absolutely beautiful. I hiked part of the tour and drove with the cablecar. On my hike i saw nature, cows and beatiful mountains. Both a good combination for me. Also its possible to book 1-4 activities, which i recommend. Prices are ok. It was absolutely worth it.

Stunning
Aug 2020 • Family
Although the price for 2 adults and one 12yr old was super expensive (180chf round trip) thank goodness our 5yr old twins don't pay) the view at the first and top spots were breath taking. Just absolutely jaw dropping. Several things to do but mostly just taking in the view is enough. Really recommend this visit

Best views of the valley from First area! Easy to get to “Firstbahn” and lots of walking from there. Great skiing from there in winter too
