All I can say is wow, left me speechless. I visited 03/03/2020, lovely sunny day it's amazing, if I was scared of heights before I'm not now. I also had a fantastic hot chocolate, but unfortunately dropped my glasses case with glasses in, when I got back to the hotel I realized, I walked back and they kept checking, the staff e mailed me this morning found and returned they are great. You must must visit this attraction with the half fare card it costs about £27, well worth every penny, only the Swiss could create this.

Its a great buzz and for those who don't really like the full speed stuff its a great opportunity to be taken up the mountain in a group of 4 in individual harnesses beneath a wing. Once you are secured within your harness you are taken up to the top of the run slowly, so can view the snow and surrounding areas from about 100 feet above the ground. Once you reach the top you are then released on the wire to fly down to where you came a a faster speed. It's a great experience not to be missed and pretty good value at about 30 Swiss francs.

Amazing day at Grindlewald First. Purchased my tickets prior to going via the app. I booked with one activity but wished I had purchased more. Started off Paragliding from there in the morning. I then went back up and did the First Glider ride which was so much fun. I would also have liked to do the First Flyer and maybe the mountain carts. I had to wait around an hour in the queue for the First Glider and the First Flyer was completely sold out by 11am. I would suggest going as soon as the mountain is open. I also did the cliff walk which is so much fun and had a lovely lunch at the mountain top restaurant. The views are amazing from First. I visited many mountains on my trip but this one was my favourite. The scenery is spectacular with the added benefit of beautiful cows swinging their bells.

About the ski pass:
I bought the Jungfrau ski pass for 5 days (279chf) which includes the First, Kleine Scheidegg, Männlichen and Wengen ski areas. There is sadly no option to only buy a ski pass for First. But what bothered me the most is that there is no option to buy selective day tickets (a multi day pass where you can choose the days instead of successive days). In Engelberg-Titlis you could buy selective day tickets.
Also in Engelberg you got 5chf back when you give your ski pass back after your ski days are over, in Grindelwald this is not the case.
What I really liked is that the zipline "First glider and flyer" are included in your ski pass.

First ski area:
The aerial cable car is already pretty old but they already planned to renovate it. It brings you from the valley up to the First station at 2100m, on the way up you pass two middle stations where you can get off or stay seated till you arrived on First. There was never a waiting line for it.
The ski area is not the largest but very well to ski and to spend a whole day there. It has 4 different slopes that lead back to the valley. Although just 1 of them leads back to the cable car station. If you come down by the other 3 you have to use a bus. When I was there sadly one (nr. 22) of these four slopes was open due to lack of snow, (only one has artificial snow guns). At the end of slope 22 there is a cool bar that was made out of an old bus where you can have a drink while waiting for the bus.
The bus usually comes every 30min and goes through the town to the First cable car, the train station and the Männlichen cable car). Keep in mind that the buses have a break at noon, so check the schedule before skiing down.
The slopes and the terrain on top have not very variation but are smooth and gentle. My favorite slope is the black one from Schreckfeld to Bort (nr. 5/6) also the blue one on Schilt (nr.10) is a bit slow but very scenic to ride.

The cliff walk is worth a visit, its very beautiful. The restaurant looks pretty nice but is pricey. If you only want to sit there to take a break from skiing and have a snack you brought from home, you have to sit in the "picknic area" which is next to the restrooms and have no windows!? Looks like a pretty greedy attitude of the operator. When you don't come in with a spending spree or are rich they treat you as unwanted garbage.
The First glider and flyer is a cool zipline which you shouldn't miss since its included in the ski pass. Its not the longest, but you get a nice view and get over 80km/h fast. The staff from the zipline seemed very bored.
I didn't try the sledging run, which are advertised as the longest in Europe, so no critique about it.

Both our 3-days passes (169 CHF each) did not work. The staff of the ticket office refused to change them and insisted that we just ask the guardian of each station to open manually. Only after we called the helpline (which was actually professional and helpful), they finally were instructed to replace our passes. We lost 1 hour arguing over something that shouldn’t have been an issue and we received no apology. Incredibly rude and unprofessional.

Although the price for 2 adults and one 12yr old was super expensive (180chf round trip) thank goodness our 5yr old twins don't pay) the view at the first and top spots were breath taking. Just absolutely jaw dropping. Several things to do but mostly just taking in the view is enough. Really recommend this visit

We were going to do the scooters down into the valley after missing out a previous year. The lady selling the tickets recommended this but doing the walk to the lakes first. On the way back from the lakes the cable cars broke down. So no scooters just trips on the cable car and walk. Given the option to wait for one small mini bus or start the walk down the mountain. The pushing and no orderly queue for the bus helped make our mind up. I returned to the ticket office with two upset children and tired partner. Staff refused refund or replacement tickets for next day. When asked to speak to a supervisor they were up a mountain. Don't you realise that if a refund was given we would have used it the next day? You are selling a memory of an experience. We were so upset we left the area the next day and won't return. Poor contingency planning evident and poor covid controls.

I would not recommend this. I purchased the adventure package with 4 activities (CHF 120) We arrived at 9:30 and completed the cliff walk by 10:00 and headed to the first flyer (zipline). After waiting for half an hour we were told by the staff the wait is 2h 30m minimum due to foggy conditions. After 2h we finished and moved onto the first glider and waited over an hour for that we then decided to skip the mountain cart due to a long line and it looked poorly organised and went straight to the Trotibikes (scooters) on the way we saw a sign saying everything was sold out and had 1h+ waits. We managed to complete the scooters and left at 16:30. Overall it was poorly organised and very inefficient. We skipped what limited food was available and activities due to being to tired of waiting in lines and worried about running out of time. We also did not get refunded the activity we didn’t do. Despite the views were great and the activities were mostly enjoyable.

We had a stunning day, clear blue skies and sunshine. Be very aware of the queues. The queue for the first flyer was 3 hours long and the glider was 2 hours when we went up at 10.30am. This meant that we didnt get a chance to go to Bachalpsee or have lunch together. By the time we got to the station where the mountain carts were we were told we were too late and the queue was too long. Some of our group booked the activity package for 3 activities so we went an did the trotti bikes which were excellent. Also note we were told at the bottom of the lifts at the office that we were better off buying the tickets with berneroberland pass once at each ride, however when we got to the rides they were sold out. (A kind staff member took pity on us after queuing and allowed us on but lack of clarity was upsetting).
Overall we will absolutely come back again to do the walk and bits we missed, just be aware of queuing times when planning your trip

There are several activities to do up at First. We started early and went up around when the cable car opened at 8.30am. We first did the First Cliff Walk, which is a little thrilling and gave good views - the top viewing platform had a short queue to take photos. After that we walked to Bachalpsee and back (about 2 hours).

By the time we got back and joined the queue for the First Flyer it was about noon. The queue didn't look long, but it took 40 mins to get our turn (so it moves slowly). After that we did the Mountain Carts (short queue), which is a lot of fun, down to Bort where we stopped for lunch.

After lunch, we rode the trottibikes back to Grindelwald. I had no problems with the trottibike but my wife was apprehensive about it and went slowly. As others have mentioned it takes a bit more skill to ride the trottibike smoothly and I can see why some people might have a problem with it. Do note the last 1/3 of ride does bring you into some quiet roads (there might be the occasional vehicle) and the last portion goes into the Grindelwald road. Basically you ride the trottibike back to and return it at the First cable car station in Grindelwald.

All in we had a lot of fun at First!
