The hotel Derby provided a 50% discount voucher, we only had a 3 day stay in Grindlewald so the voucher made this a good deal. The zip wire is included but there was a 2hour queue. Its a pleasant hour summertime walk to the nearby lake and we took the cliff walk on the way back, it's perfectly safe but... More

Took cable car to First and view was marred by low clouds but we did walk along the cliff walk and glass bridge looking at the abyss below!!! As it was raining the zip line was closed as it was too wet, so we took cable car down to next station and hired the tri-wheel carts! What a buzz racing... More

We can arrive at First mountaintop on a ropeway from the center of Grindelwald in 30 minutes. First is the perfect place that we can watch Eiger under our nose. First are the place that many hiking courses and ski courses are maintained ,so we can enjoy in all seasons. We visit First in the summer and in the winter... More

The gondola ride to the top was impressive, taking about 1/2 hour. At the top, their was a spectacular view of the Eiger, Monk and Jungfrau in the distance Beautiful green hills and mountains, and lots of cows! We walked the walkway that is bolted into the side of a cliff which is a must; be sure to have a... More

Kick bikes, trikes, zip lines, hiking, the new bridge on the cliff- there is something for everyone here - great experience if you are adventuresome!

Made the trek to Frist on a recent trip to the area. Well worth the ride to the top where we enjoyed the zip line, cliff walk and hot chocolate at the restaurant overlooking the stunning view. Since cable car was closed (after 5:00 p.m.) we needed to hike down. Hike was wonderful two hours with a strategic rest stop... More

The gondola takes you up to First station from Grindelwald and is a wonderful trip. At the top the new 'Cliff Walk' attraction can be recommended. It's a bit scary but has beautiful views and it's something new and exciting. We hiked to the Bachalpsee (beautiful mountain lake), which is about a 50 minute hike, along the mountain with excellent... More

Grindelwald is one of the most beautiful spots in Switzerland and the World. The view on the Eiger and mountains is fantastic. The traditional architecture is great. There are however more pensions and hotels (mostly build in traditional style) than farms. It is a great place for hiking in summer. The place gets a lot of rain and if the... More

The ride up the mountain on the gondola offered great views of the surrounding areas as we had the clear sunny morning. We tried the zip wire ride (flyer), the carting and scootering to get down the mountain. The flyer was a big hit all round. The carting was not favoured by most in the party because of the bumpiness... More

After arriving in Grindelwald, we took the post bus to First and bought a ticket for the cable car. The views were outstanding! What a nice way to relax and see this area. We hiked to Bachalpsee Lake and saw a fox on our hike. I would suggest a light rain jacket for cooler weather and rain. A thunder storm... More
