We came all the way from Sydney, Australia, paid good money to come up here to encounter some less than desirable, inconsiderate and generally rude staff. There was a lack of clear signage, staff do not care about giving detailed instructions. Seems like their main job is to just get people out of areas if they didn’t pay their $$. This they do very well. My wife paid 20CHF to be on the zipline. I was unwell after standing in the bright snow for so long waiting for her queuing up. I took a sit on the bench in the area (piled with backpacks rather than humans). Within 2 minutes a staff came to basically kick me out of the area, waving me out. I told them I was waiting to my wife and i was a bit unwell and needed just a few minutes rest. All the 20 beach chairs in the snow fun park were taken by tourists who sat sunbathing for long term. My issues with this place is 1. Poor hospitality, lack of kindness of staff, 2. Lack of seating in large areas where some people may need resting after standing for long time. The staff then tells me to take my 2 minutes and get out immediately thereafter “please”. Wow what a sympathetic response!. I am not sure if this is the way Swiss people work - brunt, uncompassionate and unsympathetic. I sincerely hope this is not the general culture here and these are just temporary migrant workers. Won’t be coming back again for sure, regardless how beautifully the Alps are. My. When tourists came and have paid top dollar we expected to be treated with a bit of respect. Plenty of places on earth deserve my hard earned cash but not this one.

It is really very frustrating to see the there is no option to choose India as a country while registering. If we want to book online, then supplying wrong info is the only option left. Moreover, so many indians visit jungfrau and then booking engine is not made for them. Pathetic.

We apologize for the inconvenience. Due to policy and legal requirements, the option to choose India as a country during registration is currently unavailable. In such cases, we recommend purchasing the tickets on-site to ensure a smooth and hassle-free experience. Our staff will be happy to assist you with the ticket purchase at the location. Thank you for your understanding and we look forward to welcoming you at Jungfrau. Your jungfrau.ch team

Just like Katie said, there was absolutely no crowd control and no staff controlling the elevators. One went out, and people were borderline rioting. The only staff up there was a salesperson trying to sell watches near the elevators. He came out and tried to control the crowd briefly and many of us were thankful. But then, he gave up and left to go back to his post, and chaos resumed. People were pushing, screaming, and nearly fist fighting. It was ridiculous, and we paid almost $150 each for almost being trampled. Unlike Katie, I'd say the train up was very beautiful. And the ice sculpture part was cool, but not worth the money or time. They want to sell you stuff and don't really care about the experience. Go to Pilatus and pass on this one.

This area is beautiful, especially the snowy mountains and snow covered villages. Mulled wine around fire pits early evening and amazing sunsets!!
We explored the area on a skiing trip. Nothing beat skiing through snowy villages and the breathtaking views of mountains, valleys and lakes. The scenic mountain railways were really magical.

Remarkable, magical, meserizing trip to the Swiss Bernese Alps, we covered Internaken, Grindwald, Eiger, Gornergratt, Grindwald First, Juangfrau Rotenboden and Matthorn Toberone moutain. The view was breathtaking and mezmerizing and magical with the snow covered mountains, valleys and rooftops of houses and hotels and motels. The valley was full of skiiers and sledgers, holiday makers playing around in the snow. It was truy a phantasmagorical unforgettable trip, surely recommended especially duirng the Christmas holidays.

It’s the highest peak in Europe, so it’s a must visit. The view is stunning at the top , although it’s quite touristy and can get really crowded. Compare to some other mountain attractions, there are some less popular but better ones. But this is still recommended for a visit .

Thank you for sharing your positive experience!
As the highest peak in Europe, it's a must-visit destination with breathtaking views at the top. While it may attract a large number of tourists and can get crowded, we still highly recommend experiencing its unique charm and beauty. It's an iconic location that promises a memorable visit. with good weather its stunning, you're in the Alps. The scenery is incredible, I was amazed at the swiss engineering, well kept trains / cable cars and being able to build observatories on tops of mountains in a way that doesn't ruin the look of the area. go, you'll love it

Was an expensive waste as visibility was poor and could see nothing. Missing out on picturesque scenery (one seen on google photo) was rather disappointing. May be, summer visit will be a different story

Thank you for taking the time to rate the Jungfraujoch 1443STRAUSSmarge. We have a webcam installed at the Jungfraujoch (accessible from our website) for our guests to check the weather beforehand, so they can plan their trip accordingly. Moreover, weather conditions cannot be compared to those most areas. Weather changes very quickly and sometimes we have 4 seasons in one day. We appologise for the inconveniences caused and hope to see you again at the Top of Europe on a finer day, where we are sure the scenery will leave you in awe. Warm regards, Teiger from the Social Media Team

Very expensive i must say. We took the trip to Jungraujong from our Hotel (Sofitel in Zurich) - excellent hotel also. Bought the trip from the hotel front desk. The trip was with Mayer Tours. I highly recommend this tour group!!!!
The trip cost me SF195 per person but it was fantastic and absolutely worth it!!
We travelled by coach from Zurich to Interlaken Ost where we had a 30 min break. Very lovely town! We then went up to Jungfraujong by train to the summet i think of 11333ft above sea level! Yes, this is very very high!
Stunning i must say! I would even recommend this if the weather is not nice! It was snowing when we went up there and it was fantastic.

We took the train from Lauterbrunnen to Jungfraujoch today and can only describe it as the most inhumane treatment for young children we have ever experienced. Despite shelling out CH176 each for our tickets, we discovered that the tickets weren't worth squat. The ticket office sell tickets to anyone prepared to part with a wad of money and do not ensure there are enough seats on the train from Kleine Scheidegg to Jungfraujoch so there is a manic free-for-all every time a train arrives (2 per hour).
On the way up we were shocked to see staff stood by and watched as tourists pushed, pulled others back by their shirt, elbowed kids out of the way, and stood on others in order to have any chance to board the two carriage trains that ascend. Many had to stand the whole way up (takes about an hour of steep ascent) and most two-seat areas had three people squashed into each other. Forget about views: unless you are impressed by the look of the back of someone's rucksack!
On the way back, this experience was taken to a whole new level: we stood in a crowd of around 100 people at the station outside Jungfraujock for over 40 mins crushed up against barriers that were locked between train arrivals. It was not possible to go forward or backward. The crowd became distressed the longer we all waited and started crushing forward even more. Not at any point were there announcements or staff to let us all know what was happening.
At last a train arrived and a staff member came and unlocked the barrier: people ran, pushing and shoving the whole way as we all knew there was not enough space on the train for all the passengers waiting. Children were squashed; some, such as our 5 year old, quite badly. The panic was ferocious; people were screaming, swearing at other passengers, pushing children away with rucksacks. One woman fell to the ground. I feel it is a miracle that no one was killed in the horrific human crush.
Our whole family felt quite traumatised by the ordeal and cannot recommend it to anyone with young children. We tried to report the incident and request a formal complaint at the ticket office back at Lauterbrunnen, but they clearly were not interested (they'd made a killing on ticket sales today and that was all that seemed to matter).
Writing this review with an ice-pack on the large bruise and swelling on my lower leg where someone desperate to board the return train pushed me into the railing while I was holding one of my children...

Traveling to Jungfrau region( after Rhine River Cruise) arriving in Interlaken in May. Is it advisable to buy Jungfrau Travel Pass now?
Or just wait until we get to Interlaken to buy them? Also, are they only sold by Swiss rail system or are they sold by agencies making a profit? Just want to make sure we pay the real price!

I have 2 questions : My German is a little rusty, what is the difference between the Jungfrau and the Jungfraujoch? Also, is the Jungfraujoch open year-round?
Written November 21, 2018
The Jungfrau is a mountain and the jungfraujoch is the saddle between two mountains. The Jungfrau is open weather permitting. Top of Europe is on the Jungfrau and worth the multiple trains to the top. Hope this helps.

We stayed at the Brunner Hotel in Wengen, it is an older building but very clean and they do serve a continental breakfast. It is easy to travel everywhere you need to be by train, cable car, or on foot. We left our car in a parking garage in Lauterbrunnen and did not retrieve it until we left for Zurich. We enjoyed riding a cable car to Mannlichen one day and to Murren on the opposite side of the valley the next day. Our children did parasailing from Murren down the valley and that was great fun.
You will have a great time in the Oberland area!!
