Overview
More
One of the most spectacular ways to cross the Alps: the Bernina Express from Chur/Davos to Tirano (via St. Moritz) links up regions with different languages and cultures. This is not a rack railway and the train winds its way gently through splendid scenery. One of the highlights is the panoramic journey through the UNESCO World Heritage RhB. On the highest railway across the Alps, the Bernina Express climbs up to the glistening glaciers before descending to the palms of Italy far below. This rail link between Northern and Southern Europe builds bridges between regions with different languages and cultures.

We took Bernina from Chur to Tirano. As the train leaves at 08:32 it is better to stay in Chur the night before as we did. We were in Tirano around 12:30, stayover that night and take the train next day around 14:30. The round...More

This has been a bucket list item for decades. The beauty and majesty of the alps is experienced in comfort. As the train climbs through switchback and tunnels, vistas are continuously changing. Truly an engineering marvel. Although it is possible to do the trip withoit...More

You should choose seats on the right side of the train traveling that direction, but neither side is bad.

Allegra, dear Ross You have to travel at minimum until from Chur to Alp Grüm. There you would also have the possibility to stay overnight, but there is only a hotel and nothing else to visit. If you want to visit something... More
