This was part of our trip that was suppose to be one of the highlights however it turned out that it was the most disappointing part of our time in Switzerland. There was about 1 hour of beautiful scenery that you wouldn't be able to see anywhere else in the world however the other 7 hours were boring. Way over... More

We took the Glacier Express from Zermatt to St. Moritz. While quite expensive it is worth the money. The large windows on the train provide an excellent view of the landscape. I would love to do this again in winter.

You must make a reservation of your seats well in advance to avoid dissapointmebt. The train and the journey are superb. In the 1st class cabin food is served on the seat table. There is a dining car and a bar. There are 3 stops of 20 minutes where one can go and buy stuff from the train station store... More

After reading some of the reviews of the Glacier Express, I almost didn’t book it. But then I decided that I wanted to experience it for myself and I am glad I did. We went from Brig to Davos, in 1st class in July. As some of the other reviewers pointed out we did not actually see any glaciers. It... More

We took the Glacier Express from San Moritz to Zermatt and were really disappointed. The most scenic portion was roughly the first hour and the rest of the 8 hour ride was painfully slow and not nearly as scenic. We spent more time stopped at stations or on the tracks in non-scenic areas waiting for other trains to pass than... More

I was really disappointed in this trip. I had taken the corresponding train many years ago and was impressed by the many glaciers visible from the train. I had hoped to repeat this experience, but it was not to be. A tunnel has been dug in the meanwhile, and the view of glaciers replaced by blackness. This train is still... More

Really looking forward to this train ride all be it 7 hrs long. Caught the train at Brig, first class with a meal included, very comfortable seats big windows and an average meal ( tip - is not necessary to pre order food, can be ordered on the train ) The trip itself is ok but does not live up... We were lucky to have great weather the day we travelled from Zermatt to St Moritz on the Glacier Express. The train had large windows and very comfortable seats. We travelled in the 2nd glass carriage and took our own food and wine on the train. The scenery was stunning for the whole trip. We got the best views of... More

We took the trip on The Glacier Express, partly because it's rated one of the 'Top 10' train journeys in the world and partly as it was the No 1 attraction recommended in our 'Lonely Planet Guide' to Switzerland. We really enjoyed our day. The train has a special 'ambience' - everyone is a passenger with the same thing in... More

We were looking forward to this train trip, but came away from this long, and painfully slow train ride extremely disappointed. The highlight is between Andermatt and Disentis, which is only a short section of the entire train journey. If your idea of a good time is a twisting, jolting, extremely slow train ride with very limited sections of spectacular... More
