I'd you travel by car it's a short way up and worth it. We walked from the Wittenbach area and took us 35 minutes. But when you are up, you have around 1-1.5h of animals.

Do not miss this wild animal park. The animals from the region are beautiful. The enclosures for the Waldkatze and Lynx were very wooded and natural looking. I was told that is is hard to spot them in the day, but they were hanging out near the fence. So elegant. The Lynx was especially impressive. The views of distant mountains are amazing.

We found ourselves with a rather wet and snowy day (yes, in may, first time since 1957 apparently), so we decided to check out Peter & Paul. We were not disappointed! We were with our sons, 20 and 23, and we dont get to see snow too often at all, so they really enjoyed throwing snowballs at each other and us too! It was lovely to walk in this natural setting and see the beautiful animals. We took the path that goes around and it was so relaxing and fun, even though it did snow, but for us this is an adventure. The fact that it is free is the icing on the cake. We had a bite to eat at the park restaurant. It was very tasty though not cheap.

If visiting St. Gallen, don't miss it. It is on top of the hill in a forest with beautiful panoramic view on Constance (Bodensee) lake. Entrance is free of charge. There are Alpen inhabitants - does, deers, bighorns, marmots, wild-pigs, bush cats, placed in vast suronded areas in the forest, so you can watch them from close. It is great to spend 2-3 hours walking, kids will love it. There is also a restaurant, but it was closed today.
