This is a spectacular location with a breathtaking view. You could take nice walk along this massive rock. If you are lucky you could bump into a family of mountain goats. Be careful along the edges of the rock as there is no fence or...More
If you have enough time go to see this place! From the train station Noiraigue it‘s about a 90‘ walk up there and you have to get up quite a bit of altitude. Easier would be the stop at the parking of „Le soliat“ a...More
It is a bit of a ride in the mountains but when you arrive it is beautiful. You have to walk for 25 minutes to reach the top and its a good spot to make pictures. It looks like the Grand Canyon but much smaller.
Great hike and the views are very nice on a clear day. Check the weather before you go. Also be careful on the way up and down. Some parts of the trail are very slippery when limestone is combined with water. I did most of...More
From Noiraigue you can walk to and around the Creux du Van. Do bare in mind that it is a long climb at first (725m?).
Some advice: it can get windy and very chilly. If there is a lot of wind, check with the tourist...More
We went there on the late afternoon and we had dinner in the restaurant nearby. Nice place; be prepared to a 40
minute drive from Neuchatel on small country (be also prepared to give priority to cattle). Quite impressive the view ( there is no...More

From Noiraigue to the way up, I appreciated at some point you can go counting your left turns to the top. Once you make it there, the hike is quite flat around the canyon. I also liked that if you are willing to continue, it...More

Try to visit "Creux du Van" : a startling rocky mountain. It's most practical to have a (rental) car to get there. There's a train going to Travers, but from there it's still a long hike. Maybe there's local transport like bus or taxi, but I don't know that.
There's a very nice funicular going from Neuchatel to Chaumont. It's roughly a 15 ride (one way) and it gives you great views over lake Neuchatel. If you're staying in one of the local hotels you typically get a local transport card (free of charge) which you can also you for this ride.
There's a natural asphalt mine in Val de Travers. Unique in Europe! Send my warm regards to Thomas, a good friend.
Enjoy this beautiful region in Switzerland!
