This little patch of the city is nice, but it adds to the overall city of Lucerne which is a stunner. The position of the lake to the city and the natural beauty of it all is visually delicious. The water in the lake and at the Muhlenplatz is crystal clear. What a beautiful place!

it's a square but a very nice one to wander around, lots of shops and eats and swans, it's really pretty and can get busy. We loved walking around, this is where I discovered some new tennis shoes were needed in order to continue, mine were not as comfortable as I had thought. This would be my first pair...yes, needed a second after a few cities. I wouldn't consider it a "must see" but if your touring Lucerne, you will probably walk right through this area anyway.

Just another square in Luzern, in the winter its quite dead, and a big open space, in summer the area is filled with the tables and chairs from the surrounding restaurants. At the end there is an area that looks down on the river and the weir. A nice old bridge as well is quite special.

Lucerne does not have any large imposing squares, this is one of the larger "small" squares dotted around the city. As it is in the old town, there are interesting buildings on three sides (one side is the river Reuss). A great place for just spending a few quiet minutes while wandering through the old town, or for a snack (or a meal), or just for people watching. Plenty of benches for the public to sit and relax.

I've visited this place many times, and I come many more times. It is a beautiful place in Lucerne too. For having a coffee or a short snack outside it is perfect.
For the old town it is a typical nice place too, with lots of history. It's close by the river (for a relaxing minute) and for the shopping in the old town.

You will likely find yourself here while walking through Lucerne and it is beautiful, especially if you cross the spreuer bridge. Nice open air plaza with restaurants that expand into the street.

This is one of several squares/former market places within Old Town Lucerne that combine a mixture of original structures with faithfully done more recent buildings, all painted and decorated to give a 16th-17th c. feel to the site. This one has a nice clock tower, but there are other similar squares that I found more interesting. However, if you are doing a walking tour--whether on your own or with a guide--you definitely should include this location as one of the sights along the way.

I didn't think there was anything particularly special about this square. It's nice enough, and easily accessible as you walk across the Mill Bridge (Spreuerbrücke), but there's nothing exceptional either.

The name in English is Millers' Square as this was where the city's mills were located as the square is near the Reuss River and the Spreuer Bridge where the mills were located for milling the grain utilizing the power of the river to drive the mills. The Spreuer Bridge was mainly built for this reasons the mills were located near the middle of the river. The square is also located near the Nadelwehr and is also a decent starting or meeting point to begin the Musegg City Wall walk and tour. Very nice square with some restaurants and shops now and is well worth a visit.
