When you are in Luzern, and you have some time to spend (check out their website for when and where they conduct the Free Guided Tours) this is a must-do.
Our guide on 20 Sep 2022 brought us through the Old Luzern, Musegg Wall, Chapel Bridge, Luzern Bahnhof, KKL, and the Lion Monument. She also taught us about the extensive history of Luzern (and its unfortunate continued association with fire incidents), and gave us interesting insights that were known only to locals about the places we went.
Do bring along some cash-on-hand to tip these guides, as they do an amazing job out of their free time.

Simon gave our group a perfect tour. He was warm and knowledgable of each site and could cover additional material as it came up. He also answered all of our random questions. This tour is a must do. Thanks again Simon!

An excellent tour given by Simon, a native to the city of Lucerne who is passionate about it and it's history. He had amusing anecdotes and insights into the culture of the city. We had a small group which made the tour very personal and gave Simon time to answer all our stupid tourist questions. He even stayed on after the tour to answer more of our questions and was kind enough to point out Äss Bar as an inexpensive meal alternative in an expensive city. Thanks again Simon, and we had a beautiful blue sky day on our visit to Jungfraujoch on Saturday.

We were met promptly at the starting place at the entrance to the train station. Our trip included the history of Lucerne, Chapel Bridge, Catholic Church, Dying Lion, Old Town, local architecture. Our guide was very knowledgeable and able to share the information in a manner to keep our attention.

We only had a short time in Lucerne with our adult children and they liked it too! About 20 people of various ages and nationalities showed up for tour. Irina was fun, informative, friendly, and high energy. Much more effective way to learn about and see the city in 2 hours than aimless walking.

We met Irena at 10.15 at the train station. Very easy to find as she has a sign.
We love doing walking tours as it really provides so much interaction with the guide and others on the tour. The information and history of Lucerne was interesting and got some local tips of where to eat.
We enjoyed our time and highly recommend.

Our family of 4 booked a private tour with Simon who picked up us at our hotel. He was a fantastic tour guide who is very knowledgeable and engaging ... we had a great time with him walking through Lucerne seeing the beautiful city (bridges, architecture, churches, fountains) and learning about its history, legends and current life. Our walking tour was over 2 hours long, and it was totally worth the time and money. I highly recommend a walking tour with Simon.
Bravo, Simon for doing such an awesome job!!!!

I can honestly say that this is the best walking tour I've done. Amazing from the historical, political and local aspects of Lucerne and Switzerland.
The points of interest are valuable and the insight offered gives context to the city and makes it come alive. Lucerne is easily one of my favourite cities now, and this tour is the primary reason!
I could not recommend it more if I tried.
Seriously.
Do this tour.
