It's very beautiful. You will fall in love when you reach on the top and look down to Lucerne lake. And on the way back I highly recommend to take cable car from Rigi kaltbad to Weggis then take boat to Lucerne.

In Zurich for a couple of days, a friend read my mind and made plans to go visit Mt. Rigi. It was my first time being "in" the Alps as opposed to flying over them. We had nearly (more clouds than blue sky) perfect weather. Took a train up the mountain virtually to the top. Ate an exemplary Swiss meal... More

My trip to Lucern would't be complete without visiting Mt Rigi. The view is out of the world! No words can explain the beauty! Check the return boat timing! Its not very regular on Saturday evening! You may end up waiting for at least an hour like me!

Take a boat across Lake Lucerne to the bottom of this mountain. You'll ride the cogwheel train up to the top, about 5,800 feet On a sunny day - and sometimes it's sunnier up top than down below along the lake - you'll see the Swiss Alps all around you. You can catch a gondola ride back down to the... More

We visited Rigi on a beautiful sunny Sunday. Lots of people there hiking and enjoying the warm weather. We took a boat from Luzern to Vitznau and train to Rigi. It was so beautiful, beautiful views and houses. Back home we went first by train to Arth-Goldau and then to Luzern. There was not that much to see there, if... More

We were trying to do our Zurich vacation on a budget, which isn't an easy task in Switzerland, so we splurged when we bought Super Saver train tickets to Luzern at $25 round trip. But when we got there, new learned it would be an additional $113 per person for a boat ride and cog rail ride to the top of... More

Mt. Rigi has many facets. Its special place in the landscape of Switzerland makes it unique: it is far enough from the range of the Swiss Alps, that you get a good view of that montain-range, it is high-enough to overlook much of the lower lying lands of Switzerland, even to the extent of seeing the Black Forest in Germany...
