This place is out of this world! Reaching Mt Rigi from Lucerne is easy too. We got the boat just across the rail station and got off at Vitznau (last stop). We got the cogwheel train up to the top of the mountain (Rigi Kulm). From there you can roam around and take loads of photos as the views are... More

The Rigi is a great place - it is quite spread out with lots of different things to do for different preferences. Our favourite walk is from Scheidegg to Klösterli.

We got the train up to the top, panoramic views. Some of us used the spa a then walked half way down before getting the train to the bottom. Well worth a visit. Preferred it to Mount Pilatus.

From the top it is a very nice walk down to the next village. Both the view from the top and the train ride up is absolutely gorgeous

Breathtaking. After taking the boat from Lucerne to Vitznau, we ascended up to the top via the charming cogwheel train. At the top you are presented with some of the most spectacular views of the Swiss Alps. It really is a majestic and very inspiring up there! Following a quick bite in the restaurant, we took the 1 hour long... More

Great variety of experiences on this easy 5-6 hour day trip from Luzern. We took the boat to Vitznau, boarded the cogwheel train to Mt Rigi, and took a cable car back down to Weggis where we boarded a boat again for our return. Spectacular views, and all travel was included under our Swiss Travel Pass. If you leave early... More

Every time I visit Switzerland I fall deeper in love with it. Last time we got to hike Mt Rigi and it was and amazing experience. You can do it as a day walk up to the top or in case you go with children, there is a little train that goes there. There are a few restaurants and places... More

If you've spent years or perhaps a lifetime dreaming of seeing the Alps, take a detour from the well known paths like Jungfrau and discover a hidden gem just outside Zurich. A quick trip on the A4/E41 will bring you to Goldau, where you can take a traditional cogwheel tram up Rigi mountain for unbelievable views. The scenery becomes more... More

The scenery is stunning, the views incredible and the snow was just awesome. We did a lake cruise got off at wegis and walked to the chair lift. It was spectacular and so much higher than I imagined. We then caught the train up to the top of Rigi and it was beautiful. Cannot recommend highly enough.

Mt. Rigi is a must-see place when you come to the region -- it is simply mind blowing when you stand there high above the lakes with this massive panorama of the Alps in front of you! Probably even more impressive is it when the valleys are covered in clouds and you can get up above it, sitting there in... More
