This was the best part of our Lucerne trip. The overall experience- starting from the journey to landscape - was perfect. This is something very difficult to write about - better go experience it! We got on the ferry at the bahnhofquai luzern. We got off at Vitznau & took the cogwheel train up to Rigi Klum. We returned in... More

An enjoyable trip non the less, punctual clean train that does offer great views from during your trip to the top. Food services at the top were good we had a... More

Easy to travel by public transport from Lake Lucerne by cruise & tram. Unfortunately due to the foggy weather, I was not able to track the recommended path down to the lower staging point to take the cable car down hill.

We did the Classic Round Trip: took a cruise from Lucern to Vitznau, a cogwheel train from Vitznau up to Rigi Klum. On our way down, we took the cogwheel train to Rigi Kaltbad, slid down in a cable car from there to Weggis, hopped back on a boat return to Lucern. Rigi Klum is the tallest point on Mt.... More

We visited Mt. Rigi after a day on Mt. Pilatus. I must say that the Mt. Rigi views were more scenic and the descent took us through areas where the locals live. The Mt. Rigi side of Lake Luzern is almost much more beautiful, scenic and much less commercial. The open air train ride down was fantastic.

We took train to Grinderwald and the yellow bus to gross....( Swiss pass allows free rail and discounted bus fare ) walked across the meadows to first and then to the bachalspee. Lake . The lake per-se is nothing much but the walk is worth it. We took a picnic up at the lake. Walked down to waldspitz ( can... More

Enjoyed the train ride to get there. What a magnificent place even if it was in the clouds. Cows and bells were charming. Going down the train was fine but gondola was squashed and unable to see anything

This is a great way to spend a day - go by ferry and rack railway and return by walking/cable car/ferry. While it can be aerobic get off the train at the second last stop and walk to the summit, its worth the effort

We were traveling with kids so hiking around Mt Rigi was a great way to break up a trip of sightseeing while getting some exercise. As others have mentioned, you can take a ferry from Lucerne to Vitznau and take a train to the top of Mt Rigi enjoying great views, then hike down the paved trails to Rigi Kaltbad... More
