The bridge was originally built in 1333 and provides a good view of the buildings of birth banks of the Reuss River. When we were there, 108 Star Wars storm trooper replicas were standing in rows near the entrance.

You can't visit Lucern without walking across the Chapel Bridge. Looks like something out of mid-evil times & the most famous covered bridge in the world! A leisurely stroll looking at not only the beautiful wood & the construction but also the views from the bridge. Enchanting!

Walking over this Bridge gives you an eerie feeling, just the age of it and the beauty the artwork and the fact it was originally built in 1333!!!! and the view of the Lake with white swans and Mt Rigi in the background..I have been twice its magical. love it.

Heritage at its best. The bridge gives access from one side of the river which runs through Luzerne to the main shopping centre. Magical at night.

This bridge would be lovely in spring and summer with the flowers in bloom in the flower boxes. As it was, in November, it looks dismal, drab and grey without the colour of the flowers. Having said that, there are religious painted panels which will interest the tourist. A pity the chapel was not open to visitors.

You cant miss the bridge when you visit Lucerne, It probably is the most visited sight for sure and that means hordes of people during the day. My advice is take a quick visit during the day, snap some photos with the light so you can see the lovely flower boxes but then come back at night for a much... More

What a beautiful way to cross a river. A long covered bridge with sides of blooming geraniums, anchored by a medieval tower. Panels painted with the history of the city ?? educating you as you cross. It invites you to look out into the lake, down the river valley, and into the city on both sides.

Its great to listen the history of the bridge. But apart from that there's nothing much special over the bridge. Plus the wheelchair access was broken on one end of the bridge with no signboard on the other end, which was both inconvenient and careless. Plus the bridge makes of better pictures from the river banks rather than while you're... More

This typical wooden bridge that crosses the lake of Luzern is a must for all visitors of the city. Entirely covered in flowers and plants is one of the most attractive places of the city. You can walk on it and watch the beautiful landscape from there. Amazing!!!
