Strolling along this beautiful bridge and taking in the Christmas lights along the lake were a favorite part of our trip to Lucerne. Lots of nice restaurants along both sides to sit and have an after-dinner drink.

Everyone visiting Lucerne must walk across the bridge, at least once. This is the much-loved emblem of the town, which means that every visitor, and even many locals, enjoy the ancient timbers and faded pictures. The view from the middle is excellent, and in summer the display of flowers is quite spectacular.

Visited this as we'd been told it's a 'don't miss it!" Location. A very unique and beautiful spot worth stopping by while you visit Lucerne

Visited Lucerne this January, the days are short. By time we made our way to the covered bridge it was dark. Definitely worth the visit at night. The lights are gorgeous.

This was a wooden bridge that takes you from downtown Luzern to an area with lots of shops & restaurants. Beautiful views and opportunity to see swans & ducks during the day & the lights at night. This is a must to do in Luzern.

From the altstadt this is an easy walk. Great way to get a different view of the city. And of course pictures that include the bridge are excellent! It is an quick walk across the bridge and gets you to the other side easily. The tiled roof is interesting to look at as you stroll through the bridge. We enjoyed... More

Located on Lake Lucern, it is the oldest standing covered bridge of Europe. It contains some old paintings depicting the life of Lucern in old ages. It is easily accessible by foot from the central train station Many birds can be seen in the surrounding lake Do check out for local musicians around

This is something you have to see in Lucerne. Luckily it's also something you pretty much can't avoid if you go near the city. The bridge is very beautiful and it's nice just to sit at one of the bars watching the world go by. The paintings which line the interior are an interesting bonus we didn't expect.
