Lots of activities on and around the lake!

Enjoyed the lake promenade when it wasn't drizzling. Many boat options and lots of views. Lots of restaurants and cafes and shops nearby.

We have taken the boat from Luzern on the lake a number of times and have always enjoyed it. Combining the boat trip with the Rigi is a great day out and very enjoyable. Be prepared for crowds and full boats during the summer and autumn especially in fine weather. There are a number of dining options depending on the... More

We travelled the lake on an old steam ship and this generated a great atmosphere. Our ticket included a nice lunch. Very nice scenery well worth the money

Lake of Lucerne also known as Lake of the Four Forest Cantons is a lake in the Midlle of Switzerland and considered the fourth largest. The lake has formed a kind of a beautiful corniche for the city where you find a lovely restaurants, hotels, cafés, kiosks, shops, etc... Good for walking, running and exercise. It is a nice place... The Lake of Luzern has various bays. Sailing with the steam boats or the newer motor boats is a colorful experience. After each corner of this lake you see a new panorama of mountains and rustical villages. The famous mountains Bürgenstock, Rigi, Pilatus etc are majestic. it's also a historic trip: on the Rütli was founded in 1291 Switzerland (Confoederatio... More

The surroundings of the lake are really gorgeous. I recommend a boat trip for seeing what else is further away of the town. An hour trip is good, not too expensive, and informative enough.

When visiting Lucerne, you should definitely include a cruise on the lake. The scenery is beautiful and a cruise is a great way to see it. There are different ships and boats, so its easy to choose one that suits your schedule.

We took the boat from Pier 1 to the end of the lake and back. The boat stops along the way for passengers coming on and leaving. It's one way to see the lake area. A tip here, would to get off at the end and take the train back, that would save a couple of hours. You can bring... More

We purchased the viator cruise in advance. It was good, but the viator cruise had mediocre directions and the cruise staff didn't have a scanner to accept electronic vouchers. They almost refused me entrance because of this.
