We did get information about the station from our travel guide. Otherwise you wouldn't know the history. You won't miss anything if you don't visit the station however.

The train station has 8 platform. However, this city is the heart of swiss because it is center. You can go to Zurich, Geneva (airport) and the southern including Milan.

Really it is just a train station. There are some shops, and a tourist info centre. The great thing is how it is located so close to so many things to do. Minutes from the boat launch and a boardwalk walk around the lake. Steps...More

It's a beautiful place by the lake... A scenic stop on the way to Interlaken. Good place to buy souvenirs as well as Swiss watches!

Lucerne main station is a place to get your connections. Nothing else, the place is not nice. There are a lot people hanging around, nobody likes.

this is like one of those organised clean railway station in switzerland having good domestic and international connections....well ain't all railway stations in switzerland like that???..the station has some cool chocolate shops as well..the people at the ticket kiosk was ultra nice and help me...More

The train station is not so big so 16 minutes would provide you more than enough time to change trains.
