Chris gave our group an amazing walking tour of Lucerne. He customized our tour to work with our schedule, explored the key sites we asked about as well as several sites that are frequently overlooked. He accommodated all our special requests for things we wanted to do in Lucerne, including a delicious chocolate tasting at Laderach’s, and a wine and cheese tasting at the end of the tour. He managed to keep a group of 17 people together on trams, on buses, and on foot around Lucerne for our 3 hour tour. He had many interesting facts and stories about Lucerne and life in Switzerland, took a lot of group shots for us, and made the tour very enjoyable.
Chris was very easy to work with on planning the tour and very responsive to my emails, even though I was 6 hours behind him. I would definitely recommend him for customized tours for large as well as small groups.

My wife and I had the pleasure of touring for 2 days at separate regions in Switzerland with Chris Wilson and had an amazing time. During our first tour in Jungfrau, Chris met us at our hotel and took us on an incredibly scenic alpine hike of the Eiger trail followed by a tour of the regional lakes, waterfalls and boat ride ride over to a lake side town straight out of a fairy tale. We ended the day back in the Lauterbrunnen valley below the village we we staying, and got some great pictures to memorialize our time in the Jungfrau region. We met up with Chris a few days later while in Luzern to spend another day with him exploring the ancient lake side city and took a boat over to the base of Mt Pilatus. There we took the steep cogwheel rail up to the peak of Mt Pilatus to get picturesque views of the entire Luzern region, which was breathtaking. We ended the day touring the villages and towns surrounding lake Luzern and finished the day very happy with our time with Chris. We would recommend Chris to others given his knowledge of the area, ability to immerse his clients in the local scene and logistical prowess to get so much experience in without feeling rushed. Finally, Chris loves to take pictures to document the experience and has great ideas on where to capture memories. Chris Wilson is a tour guide well worth seeking out!

Chris with typicallyswisstours dot com was an awesome guide and I would whole heartedly recommend him to anyone looking for a private tour. His private Mercedes transport van made getting around Switzerland easy, and his knowledge of Switzerland throughout had entertained us the entire day.
If you are looking for a guide I would highly recommend Chris.
A bonus is he is from the UK and have been living here for over 15 years, so English was his first language!

I contacted Chris for a customized tour. We wanted pick up in Lucerne and drop off in Zurich. I met with Chris via FaceTime 1 month prior to the trip and together we came up with a tentative itinerary. He also gave me suggestions for things to do and restaurants for my time on my own in both cities. He also encouraged us to do some things on our own during our time in Lucerne and we didn't need a tour guide. (To hire him for a second day) He was prompt for pick up. Car was comfortable and clean. Chris was very personable and he was flexible with us on our agenda for the day. He kept to our very quick pace and we were able to fit in a lot in a very short window, I would refer him to friends and I would use him again.

We booked a private tour for The Bernese Oberlands. We got lucky to get Chris who was our personal guide. He was such a professional with the right attitude and thinking for our convenience always. He drove us to the internal villages and roads of Switzerland that normally bus tours don't normally do. The itinerary was too good that it covered most of the beautiful landscapes and at the same time entertained kids as well. Overall value for the money for sure.

Lake Luzern and Mt Stanserhorn
In the weeks before the tour, Chris took the time to call us for a video call chat which in 10 years of private tours, we had never experienced. This call was useful as we could discuss what we wanted to see and do and this gave Chris some time to plan our 2 days with him.
Once the trip came, Chris was punctual, smart, informative, knowledgeable and amusing. We saw some amazing Swiss landscapes and simply had a lovely couple of days in the fresh Swiss Open air. We could not have chosen a better tour guide, highly recommend and would definitely book again!!

We recently spent three days touring the city of Lucerne and the Bernese Oberland area, including Mt. Rigi, Aare Gorge, Giessbach Waterfalls, Brienz, and The St. Beatus Caves. Chris was a wonderful engaging guide. His knowledge of the area and Switzerland, and his sense of humor made our time very enjoyable. We felt he genuinely cared about our comfort throughout our hiking, rides on cog railways, and cable cars. We enjoyed many conversations about life and culture. And Chris took many photos of us on our journey, leaving us with lots of memories of our time in this area of Switzerland. We would definitely recommend you contact Chris at TST if you are looking for a memorable private tour of Switzerland.

We are an extended family of 7 (parents, kids, grandparents) and we wanted a memorable trip of a lifetime that encompasses everyone’s interests and abilities (that’s a big one!). Going on our road trip through Switzerland with our amazing tour guide Chris was like being taken around by a old friend who wanted nothing but the best for us. He knew exactly what each and everyone of the family members would like, went out of the way to find snow at the very top of the mountains and helped the kids realise their dream of sledding and found us the absolute best places to eat and really made our trip so special! It felt like the ulitimate luxury travel where we never had to plan or think of where to go next and Chris always had all these amazing places and experiences to choose from every step of the way, absolutely incredible! Chris is a wonderful, engaging and knowledgeable tour guide . . . from our first video call, to the timely pick up at our hotel in Zurich, through beautiful and breathtaking Switzerland with a return to our next hotel in Lucerne it was perfect! We saw an amazing gorge, several waterfalls (wrong season for the 72 I requested) the beautiful grand hotel in Giessbach on a gorgeous lake, a quick tour through Interlaken and Brienz (thanks Henry for verifying the geranium story wherein I played the role of Lilibeth), Staubbach Falls and my end of day aperol spritz with an awe inspiring view of Jungfrau and Eiger.
Upon entering Lucerne, Chris went above and beyond by planning the following day on our own for us and checking in throughout the next day to make sure we found everything ok! Chris was wonderful and we can’t recommend him enough! Don’t plan Switzerland without him!

Chris was amazing to work with. I am a travel agent and reached out to him to work with a group of 6 adults that wanted a day trip from Basel to Lucerne. He was easy to communicate with, did a video call to discuss more of what my clients were looking for, and took wonderful care of them in destination. I will absolutely work with him in the future and highly recommend him if you’re in the Lucerne region.
