I took my partner here for the start of a special day together.
We each had a two hour massage treatment, which was wonderful. They are very attentive to your personal needs and requirements.
Have seen some reviews talking of how expensive it is. Yes that is true, but who cares?
I enjoyed this because it makes it more exclusive and you feel special for the entire time you are there.
Next time we will plan it better and enjoy relaxing by the pool and maybe have lunch ect.

This was a planned girl's day SPA with my cousin who I was treating that day. As soon as we arrived just on time for our treatments, the receptionist in charge gave us attitude and rushed us to the cabins. The therapists were professional and attentive so we enjoyed our massages. Once finished we just spent over an hour sitting outside chatting and we did not use any facilities. At one point the same receptionist approaches to interrupt our conversation rudely just to specify that we are not allowed to use the facilities and practically throwing us out! At check out not one word of excuse despite my complaints however they were more than happy to cash my CHF 500. Incredibly arrogant behaviour for a 5 stars resort! Never again!

- Dishonesty from the manager
- Installations / Interior design are somehow run-down... not worth a 5* hotel (barely a 3*)
- Works around the massage rooms! When all you want is a smooth music... Absolutely NOT relaxing!
---
My story. Traffic got particularly bad this day and I figured I would be late for my massage. Gosh... So the minute I realize this (20min before) I call the Spa to let them know. "No problem Mme, take your time, we're waiting for you". Great, I'm relieved... So I arrive, 10min late as announced. I'm 7months pregnant with twins, by the way. I'm being shown around, and told to change and take it easy, my masseuse will be waiting, no worries. I get ready, 10min later I'm in the massage room. The masseuse makes a nice, long introduction, explains it all, asks questions... 5-10min later the massage begins. 30mins later: "did you you enjoy your massage?" "Euh.. well, maybe there is a misunderstanding... I paid for a 1-hr massage, 180chf total".. The masseuse invites me to talk with the manager.
I speak with him. Feel very uncomfortable. Explain that if they are not able to do a 1-hr massage in this case, they should at least not tell me to "take my time" and do the whole introduction thing etc., but try to have the massage start asap... He eventually gets it. Barely apologizes. Tells me they'll offer me 20min on my next massage then. I think that is somehow fair, OK. Even if I feel that if I had not complained, they would not have proposed it pro-actively, for sure.
So, I come back. I have my massage. By the way, absolutely not relaxing, because there are works (they are re-doing the spa, which I understand) just next to the massage cabins, so you just want to get out of the room to not hear it anymore (maybe they could give you an audio cask with an i-pod to cover the noise?). OK, again not a very positive experience but at least I'll have it cheaper... I go to pay, and they give me the full price. Again, embarrassment... I explain the situation and the free 20min... Here comes the manager again. He tells me they can offer a 10%... (really?). I pay, then go towards my car, and feel bad. I go back, and tell him hey, that was not our deal. He tells me well, you should be happy, as last time you were late and so it was a nice gesture from us (really? so do we need to discuss that again? and you won't keep your word?) Then he tells me that the 20min are on top of the hour (you should be paying a full hour), but that they did not have the time today. That next time I could have that again. Well, there will be no next time, that is for sure.
CONCLUSION:
- Even if we put my story aside, the spa is a bit run-down: deco is not curated, white light neon-style in the changing rooms... Holmes Place changing rooms are way nicer, for example. Massage room are quite kitsch as well, and cheap.
- Unacceptable to hear maintenance works during your "luxury" massage...
- The attitude of the manager is unbelievable. To start with I think you should be allowed to be 15min late for such a massage, come one, let's not do things "a la chaine" in a 5*!! And if you do, well a heads-up would be nice, and a more customer-oriented attitude should be shown.
- If you want to have the best experience ever, go to FOUR SEASONS / LES BERGUES in Geneva: incredible deco and views, super nice staff, gorgeous... all details are there. They know what luxury means. The manager from La Reserve Spa should go make an internship there.

I've had a good think about why I felt disappointed by my experience here, as the treatment itself was professional and effective, and everyone was pleasant.
Here's why: The Spa is caught between two different intentions - although attached to a very 'exclusive' hotel in manicured green surroundings, it advertises itself as a relaxing retreat, a getaway from city life, but is set out like a city-centre beauty salon, so that once you've changed in the sumptuous changing rooms you have to wait, feeling a bit exposed in your robe, in what is pretty much a wide corridor while members waft to and fro. I arrived early as advised, so had 15 minutes of being checked-out in my bathrobe every time anyone walked past... Maybe it's a 'see and be seen' thing, but I certainly didn't appreciate it. Service is prompt and efficient but without any real personal warmth.
I guess it didn't help that I was really looking forward to a relaxing spa visit, and had hoped to prolong my visit with a trip to the hammam. In the end, I felt quite uncomfortable, as if I shouldn't have been there, so I just dressed and left. Not the relaxing effect I was hoping for. Maybe it's different for hotel guests and the gilded elite who can afford membership, in which case maybe they should concentrate on that and not offer beauty treatments to the 'outside world'.

Great place to go for a drink or food during the summer in the beautiful garden. Beautiful spa and top Chinese food. Suggest trying the caramelized beef.

If you want to offer a massage to somebody you love, it is a nice idea. But do not forget to open your wallet, because you are going to have to pay! I receive a massage as a present. The lady was really nice and was always asking if everything was ok for me. You have the option to use the hammam and you will have drinks offered, but forget the swimming pool, it is only for hotel clients.
