Some construction when we visited
Jul 2021
The Chapel of the Maccabees is inside the cathedral in Geneva, and entrance to it (as with the cathedral) is free. It's a small room but has beautiful stained glass windows. Unfortunately during our visit, there was some construction or restoration going on, so some of the windows and floor area were covered and not visible. I'm sure it will look even better once they're finished, and for now we enjoyed spending 5 minutes looking at the beautiful windows that were visible.

Ok

The chapel is located inside the cathedral of St Pierre, the huge building with columns in the old town (above a hill facing the lake). Entrance to the cathedral and therefore to the chapel is free. It was not the most amazing religious site I have visited but it was ok. I recommend going up the viewing tower.

Historical

It is said that the Cardinal Jean de Brogny had this beautiful colorful chapel built to house his and his family's tomb. It is the first elaborate Gothic style in Geneva and was restored later in the 19th century neo-Gothic style.

Peaceful place

This is a beautiful chapel on the side of St Pierre Church. The stained glass and organ are the highlight. When I came here, it was empty and I felt very peaceful.

Totally unexpected
Oct 2019
Don't miss this. It is a side chapel in an undistinguished Calvinist Church. The rest of the church is bare and unadorned, in the Puritanical style, and then you step into small and beautifully decorated little gem. Stunning, as much for its style as its unexpectedness. The official history is a bit vague as to how and why it is so different to the church that surrounds it and how it survived the reformation and since but don't miss it.

Could be worth a few minutes of your time if you are in the vicinity or have special reason to be there. Apart from that, you won’t miss much.
