2000 years of history packed under a church. It was a last minute trip to here and I am glad I didn't miss this. It was truly a great highlight of the city and the history that lies underneath.

Well, if you like stones, go for it! In my opinion there was not so much to see, fortunately the price was cheap..

It took me a long time to find this place & in the end, it was hidden in plain sight. They were renovating the chapel to the right od the cathedral main entrance, which partly obscured the entrance to the archaeological site. I was about to give up when I saw an organized tour group arrive. By the time I... More

The whole site is fantastic! Being able to walk through the different layers of construction on the site, at your own pace, with an audio guide and several stations with either prepared displays or video presentations, makes it great for people of a wide range of ages. Our kids range from 8 to 16, and all three enjoyed it. If... More

A very informative and clearly instructed archeological site. It was fascinating to see how the site has evolved over the decades. The audio guide (included in the entrance fee) was excellent.

If you are in Genebra or planning to go you must visit this archeological site. You should visit the catedral first and then go to the site to understand how it was built. You will feel how life goes fast as you walk through thousands of years of history of local civilization.

I really enjoyed the guided walk around the excavations. The audio guide is included in the very reasonable entrance fee. Bonus - the English version is voiced by a hilariously plummy female. Loved seeing the layers of history so clearly in the soil. Some interesting artefacts. Not as good as the Scavi under St Peters in Vatican City but similar... More

We went to St. Pierre cathedral with our nephew when we visited Geneva and loved it! The detail was astonishing and the multiple number of times during which the cathedral was constructed and modified was extremely impressive. It felt like one was walking back in time, seeing how things must have looked when the city was first settled. We very... More

See 2,000yrs worth of history in the archeological site below the cathedral. Ramps and walkways allow you to have front-row seats to the amazing historic findings. You pay a small fee of 8CHF per adult which includes an audio guide so you can take your time and enjoy.

It's nice to see, price is okay, takes more or less 1h. But it's not as impressive as I imagined. Have been to Naples underground 2 weeks ago - so I expected a bigger and rougher site.
