Our favourite ski area and summer Biking/Hiking retreat, a wonderful area to explore, lots of lovely Alpine villages and quality restaurants, recommend Les Gets, Morzine, Samoens. All lively places all year round, I have used this area for 12 years and find something new every...More

Great ski region and open to all (great fun for all ages - lots of ski schools and 'life' for grown ups. Memory from recent holiday was son getting to the top of a mountain and going 'left for Switzerland, right for France'! Amazing memory...More

The Valais (Wallis) part of Portes du Soleil is does not have the bests slopes for beginners. I suggest you head to Les Gets instead. Further more we had a bad experience concerning the access cards: they sold us outdated ones. I had to go...More

I have skied extensively in Europe and this is by far the best area. You can get everywhere from Morzine and can ski over into Switzerland for some of the best runs. Get up high if you can but be aware lifts shut on very...More

March 5th, at midday we board the lift Expresse Mosette. I now know (internet searches) that it is the second longest chair lift in Ported de Soleil over 2 km long and a crucial link between the French and Swiss side of the skiing area....More

Have been skiing here for last 5 years and love it. Great variety of skiing to suit all. Good value and big enough to escape the crowds. We usually stay in Chatel.
