Not a huge amount to see here it's a small covered area with some mosaics and a few cannons. Worth five minutes of your time and with it being free and just around the corner from our hotel it made sense to pop by. If you have a walking tour of the city it will almost certainly take you here.

Nice to visit if you like history. When we went there, there was a group of kids with parents doing an egg hunt. there are some old cannons and the building is historical. All the neighberhoud is historical. It is near the hotel de ville.

We were on a walking tour and arrived at the Lácien Arsenal with 3 images depicting Geneva. These ancient cannons are a reminder of when Geneva had to defend itself during the war against its neighbors. Do check out the beautiful mosaic artworks as well.

Beginning life in the 18th century as a granary, it later became a military store, a role it maintained until 1877. Today it houses State Archives.
It is an atmospheric edifice with fine columns and arches. A reminder of less peaceful times is a trio of cannons used to defend the city standing under the archways.
On the walls are three mosaics depicting seminal events in the city’s history. A standout is the one showing Julius Caesar amongst the Allobroges in 58 BCE. These were the peoples occupying the territories in that period.

Definitely something to see when in the Old Town. Situated directly opposite de Town Hall (Hotel De Ville) it has beautiful fresques and vintage canons worth admiring up close.

This is a great quick little stop in the middle of a visit to Geneva. If you're in the Old Town (Vielle Ville), stop by this shady little corner across from the Town Hall (Hotel Ville). The murals are beautiful and its neat to see the cannons. Plus, if its the middle of the summer, its nice to get out of the shade. While you're there, definitely pop into the town hall for a visit because the courtyard is very pretty and, enjoy a stroll around the rest of the Old Town.

Perfect spot to walk around and take in the history and architecture. Be certain to read or take a walking tour perhaps to learn how hot stew saved the town!

Tucked away is this arsenal and normally not something I would go and visit, but this really ticked all my boxes for interesting textures.. with the cobbled pebble flooring, the wooden roof the muralles and then the guns with the metal work. Incredible pallet of textures and material and quite atmospheric. Kids loved climbing and sitting on the guns whilst I sucked up the engineering and artistic combination of raw materials.
Lovely cafe nearby too.

This is not something worth travelling to, but if you're in Old Town, it's likely you'll pass by it (especially if you're headed to the Calvin wall monument). It's just a handful of old cannons lying out.

Have the cannons ever been fired in anger? If so against whom?
