If you are heading to the Cathedral you will find this lovely area, packed with bars and restaurants and busy day and night. Some interesting buildings in the streets nearby. Worth the climb up the hill , or if you get the sightseeing train it will take you there too .

One of the most picturesque walks in Geneva. Beautiful urban square with cafes in the middle of the old city. Practically next to the San Pedro Cathedral and with a source of drinking water that cannot be missed. You can breathe the old continent and of course the Roman footprint. A charming place to get lost for a while among flowers, fountains and cafes.

We walked to Place Bourg du Four the first time we visited it during our trip to Gevena in Dec 2016. We then discovered there is a local small Bus No. 36 which runs up to and all around Old Town with several bus stops in the area at different places of interest. Place Bourg de Four is a lovely very old square with restaurants, shops. It is possible to walk down from Place Bourg du Four in several directions taking in different museums, churches, cafes, etc on way down and ending up in different parts of Geneva.

The old town is great fun. No cars allowed, so it is a walkers dream. Take your time because there are lots of shops and restaurants to visit along the way not to mention the people watching. Love to visit during early summer evenings when everyone is out and about and just enjoying the weather and the surroundings.

For sure the most beautiful part of Geneva, Full of small streets with a very beautiful central square. An area full of historical, architecture buildings.
Can relax taking a coffee or a glass of wine in the nice coffee shops/restaurants and enjoy your time.
For sure if you are in Geneva need to visit specific place.

This is probably the loveliest spot in old Geneva to have a drink outside in one of the several cafes. The old city seems to not have many squares like this. Many locals stop here for a coffee during the day or a beer in the evening after work. Very charming whether sunny or when there's a light rain.

The cosmopolitan City of Geneva has a well preserved picturesque old town testimony to its 2,000-year-old history. By stepping onto the cobbled stone streets we were kind of instantly transported back in time. After the stop we had at the 12th-century St Pierre Cathedral with its lofty neoclassical façade features of several architectural styles, we wandered through the labyrinthine paved streets. We visited the Art and History Museum and Maison Travel, the oldest house in the city.
The cobblestone alleys of old town wind through lovely buildings that exude old world charm. The alleys are lined with many art galleries, bookshops, antique shops, museums, cafes, and restaurants.
Through our stroll around the old town, we explored squares dotted with enchanting fountains, windows overflowing with vibrant blossoms, intricate designs and ornamentations on the lofty wooden doors and the signboards of the cafes.

This quaint little square in Geneva's Old Town is a nice spot to take a break from your sight seeing. It has a very relaxed feel. There's quite a number of cafes and restaurants to grab a bite to eat. One of the better Swiss chocolate shops is located here as well. Chocolaterie Arn.

Great place worth a visit, part or the old town and was great to sit and chill outside a bar and watch the world go by.

A perfect place to sip a drink or coffee or have dinner in the multitude of cafés and restaurants. La Clémence for drinks and Le Café du Bourg de Four for dinner & drinks are the two picks of the square in my opinion. You will see one of the best views of the top of the Cathedral but also the best looking ensemble of old houses in the whole of Geneva. Unmissable and also strategically placed to head towards Parc des Bastions/Town Hall/Cathedral, or the Russian Church/History Museum area or head towards the shopping area of les "rues basses"/Lake Geneva (Lac Léman).
