This is certainly one of the best collections of Asian art, hidden in a beautiful townhouse in Geneva. Better known to the Japanese and Chinese tourists then the locals, it is a small gem. The collections focus mainly on Japan and China, with a remarkable display, easy to access for any public. Located in the heart of the city this... More

Ok, the building kinda very old-fashioned "Hôtel particulier" looks nice. But their asian collection is ridiculously small and the entrance fee (10 CHF) very high for what it is. On top of that, their opening hours are very tight : Mon-Sun 14-18 PM only. This is a private arrogant museum which does not accept the Swiss Pass Museum just because... More

Very helpful staff which is both kind and very knowledgeable. Great expo on Cartier and nice building and atmosphere! Bit pricy but worth it.

Had to walk around a bit to find the entrance. Museum was really calm and quite wonderful apart from the presence of a loud tour group. The permanent collection was very well exhibited and almost deserted. The temporary Cartier exhibition generated a lot of interest and most patrons seemed to be there. The museum is in a beautiful old mansion... More

The Baur Foundation, a magical private museum dedicated to Chinese Porcelain, one of the best collections in the world and an original museography in an old villa renovated as a modern museum. And another one " l'Asie rêvée dans les collections Baur & Cartier", chinese and japonese objects inspired Alfred, Pierre and Louis Cartier to make this wonderful collection pecious... More

I love this museum it is a quiet and great place. The exhibits are of great interest. The building is a patrician house that belonged to the Baur family I believe. I always travel back to Asia on each of my visit

A small, delightful museum specializing in Far Eastern art in one of Geneva's old homes. Both the exhibits and the environment reflect understated quality.

Amazing collection of porcelain, jade, samurai swords and others. All pieces are hundreds of years old, yet look brand new. The intricacy of many of the pieces is bewildering. No photography allowed - in fact you have to leave your bags in lockers at reception. The Museum is not easy to find as it's not very well sign-posted. All pieces... More

This small but rich in historical objects museum stands just 5-10 min walk from Geneva's old town. You will not regret coming up there- the collection in very interesting, showing military uniforms, art objects, household utilities from Asia (the halls are separated by countries). Explanation materials in French and English.

For a little museum, tucked away on a residential street, this was a fasinating museum. Very unique and very interesting.
