If you visit Bern for one day, a big walk around its Medieval city is an outstanding experience. Towers. bridges, buildings, streets and the surrounding river offers an atmospheric visit in a historic and really beautiful environment. Do not miss the bear park at the limits of the old town, the fountains and the Cathedral. Very well perserved and plenty of... More

This is a Unesco World Heritage Site and walking around you can see why. The beautiful clock tower, enchanting medieval streets, cute shops and restaurants in the old buildings .... It can not be more inviting. Feels like you have gone back in time. :)

Berne's city center is largely medieval and has been recognised by UNESCO as a Cultural World Heritage Site. Perhaps its most famous sight is the Zytglogge, an elaborate medieval clock tower with moving puppets.

The old town in Bern is a very cute region of Bern, with old buildings, and small houses that looks similar. It is easy to walk through the region and visit everything in one day. The river is amazing.

Visiting Switzerland without strolling through the old town of Berne would be a shame. Between 'Hauptbahnhof' (main train station) and the 'Bärenpark' (bear pitch), many large and small shops, restaurants and bars welcome visitors and offer everything one could think of. And thanks to the arcades, this shopping pleasure is also highly recommendable should the weather be bad, too!

It's a beautiful medieval town. Huge clock tower. Surrounded on three sides by the river Aare. Very touristic place. There are over 12 fountains. Each depicts a story. Plenty of shopping, Westside as well. World famous Einstein museum is in Helvetia platz.

Romantic alleys and fountains adorned with statues, walkways covered arcade where you can find shops, museums, theaters, cafes and restaurants. Do not forget to visit the Swiss Parliament (scheduled visit by phone with free and just one day before), located in the heart of the old building. A gorgeous city that exudes calm and wellbeing.

Old Town Bern is a must see attraction. Although you might recognize certain brands or identify foods from afar, it doesn't take much to imagine yourself in a medieval town. This is an especially nice place to visit during the winter where there are two sizable Christmas markets where you can get mulled wine and browse various local shops. Good... More
