The website says the hall is open until 7pm (19:00) on Mondays. Whilst technically correct in that you can open the doors and enter, all the stalls were closed when we visited at 6pm (18:00) and from the looks of it, had been closed for...More

So happy that our greeter suggested lunch at Markthalle Basel because we wouldn’t have found it on our own. It was an affordable international food court that was filled with incredible homemade flavors!

The old market hall is a "sin in terms of 60`s architecture" they did the best in terms of use. The street food is rustically but great an authentic from several country in the world. Great drinks and food at this special place

There's a good variety, although depending on what time of day, some stalls may be closed. Lunch seems to be the time when most are open. It's nice to wander the stalls and you can try different cuisines without breaking the bank. Which is saying...More

5 mins walk from the train station, there are a lot of stalls but only half were open in the evening. Quite a good variety of international food cuisine but the place was quite gloomy and dark, not lighted very well. Good place if you...More
