We loved our afternoon walk through this park. So clean, nice washroom facilities, great place for families and the arbutus trees are amazing. Nice walk along the Rhine river.

A lovely park, where you can easily spent a couple of hours with your kids playing Frisbee or badminton. A fountain is from the same architect, who created Tinguely-Brunnen fountain in the city center. There is also a museum of Tinguely - Swiss painter and...More

The park itself was rather quiet on my visit, but the promenade leading to the park was well used with bikers, joggers and walkers all passing through the area. The park has benches, a children’s play area, fountains, a covered pavilion and architecture around the...More

We always pass through this pleasant park overlooking the Rhine on our way for a swim in the Rhine. It's a pleasant surrounding, with many benches, works of art and water fountains.

There is a shallow splash pool for kids in the summer and a little outdoor shower to rinse off but no spa facilities.

Basel for KIDS (5 Replies)
I will be working in BASEL this summer and will be accompanied by my wife and 5 year old son. Can you recommend any parks where he could play and let off steam. I will of course take him to the zoo. Is the tinguely museum appropriate for his age? What is the procedure for using the small ferry that crosses by the Munster and is it a long walk from the ferry to Solitude Park?? Finally I have a 7 tages karte for the trams, er how do I validate it??

Hi Soennecken Welcome to Basel. The zoo is absolutely recommendable. Ask for the family card, or even the family season ticket. The one you mentioned is not the closest to solitude. There is one from St. Alban Tal directly to Solitude. Anyway, short walking distances. ( From Münster ferry...More
