As you would expect the best part of this site in winter is the hot house. With lots of exhibits growing really well and some colourful plants, it was a welcome contrast to the grey world outside. The best parts were the beautiful tropical birds happily flying around and singing and, of course, the welcome warmth.

Although it is a small botanical garden in comparison to other cities, it is very well kept and has free lockers and space to leave jackets (and this is important because it is very hot inside the greenhouses). The highlight: the tropical greenhouse (main one) which has species of birds, frogs and tortoises from around the world. Even though we... More

My hotel was across the street. As I do wherever I am, I quickly unpack and hit the streets. Exploring your immediate locale makes my trips much more interesting, less intimidating and gets me in the mood to explore. I stumbled on these gardens and just quietly walked in not knowing if it was opened, much less aware if it... More

A cute little garden to wander about with some glass houses. The tropical one was great with ponds, beautiful birds and even a tiny elevated viewing platform.

The botanical gardens was somewhere we thought would be worth a visit, it was but not as good as our expectations! There is an air of tiredness but also an underlying charm! On a sunny Saturday morning it was worth the time getting there, on another dull day probably not worth the effort, this comes from a keen gardener and... More

The park is a great place to enjoy a sunny day. You can walk, picnic, sunbath, and workout. It is 15-20 min away from the center via tram but make sure to visit if you have time.

This botanical garden is free, so we decided it was worth a stroll. I couldn't help but be reminded of London's Kew Gardens - they have a lot of the same exhibits: a tropical greenhouse with birds, a indoor pond with the huge lily pads with spikes underneath, a room with desert plants. There were not a lot of people... More

Good for Sunday activity as all other shops are closed. Has many mosquitoes. Plants are few and not well maintained in summer. Limited picture opportunities.
