A great destination whilst in Basel. Pay a few euros and climb the steps to the top of the towers avoiding the low beam! Amazing views including the Rhine and the colourful rooftops. Not for the unfit. The Munster has some lovely stained glass and carvings.

Awesome Catholic Cathedral situated high above the Rhine River. Built early in the last century of pink sandstone common to the area with a very distinct multicolored tile roof. Has an interesting stained glass window with the Star of David.

Lovely building to have a good wander around. Stunning windows and you can climb to the top (for a price).

Beautifully sitated on the Münsterplatz, this church offers a fantastic view over Basel from the lookout area behind the church, but certainly for those who like climbing stairs form the towers. Inside the church you can also visit the grave of Erasmus. After the visit, take the stairs down to the rhine to cross the river using the Fähre.

One of the best places in Basel to learn about the history of the town. A very spiritual feeling and it is a place of tranquility. always good to sit down and think.

Large red brick cathedral with a statue of St a George killing the infamous dragon. The cloisters around the cathedral with the metal sculptures were very good.

The Basel Munster visit provides very interesting exploration: The facade has unique colors, carvings and statues. Note the huge lance with George slaying the dragon on the left. The climb up the towers gives awesome view of the city and Rhine River for an extra fee. Note that Erasmus, a scholar, is buried in the church towards the front on... More

It is not allowed to go up the towers alone, just in case you plan to commit suicide. All the rest is great, do not forget to see Erasmus and find the Basilik stone ;-)
