Lovely Park

This is park of a lovely park that borders the football stadium. Lots to see or just for a kick around.

Nearly year around it is a fine place to experience plants from many different eco-zones. I often enjoyed taking my lunch with me during the spring to have a picnic. The Tropic House is by far the most interesting. There are several species of birds that are quite vocal so you get the feeling in part that you are really... More

Although located slightly on the outskirts of Basel, this is a very nice place for anybody looking to chill and relax a bit far from the madding crowd.

Where Baslers walk. Go when the rhododendron or the iris are in bloom. Enjoy a coffee or light meal in the restaurant.

Merian Garten was a refreshing change to just do nothing but connect with nature, seeing the greenery all around where the autumn hues were slowly coming through everywhere before the winter sets into Basel.

A small botanic garden in comparison to many, but still interesting to visit. Not very crowded typically. Easy to get to.

This park can be busy during week-ends (for the restaurants) There are plenty of different plants from spring time during summer to autumn. Possible to walk along a small river, artificial lakes with fishes and birds. During summer there is a merry-go-around. Big green for children to play. Two restaurant, one near the main entrance with a play ground for... More

This is a lovely little park with tropical greenhouses. We especially liked the colorful birds that aren't afraid of humans.

These gardens are a little out of town although easily reachable by car or tram and definitely worth a visit. There is a wealth of plants laid out in a sympathetic manner and a wonderful iris garden modelled on a Japanese theme. Access is free. In the gardens there is also a carriage museum and easy access to a medicinal... More

These gardens are well worth a visit and make for a pleasant morning stroll around. There are lots of plants to see as well as some quaint old buildings. It's great that it's free to access.
