A lovely place for a walk, right in the city...

Heirloom Apple trees, berries, old-fashioned flowers... sheep, chickens... If you are looking for a completely different experience of Basel, this is a great place to go!

The place is so nice and well kept, it is really a joy to see the flowers and the little fruit trees. They also have a few little animals like rabbits, sheep, chickens, etc which is so nice to go to see them, especially with children.

The Merian Garten can be accessed with several public transit options. I took the Tram #10 down to St. Jakobs Park and walked from there to the park. Wow, it has already been two years since my last visit here. This park is really an exceptional place to visit to get away from the city center. The park is huge... More

The Merian Gärten are an oasis of tranquility with many interesting plants to enjoy. We were here in the summer but it should be a great place to visit all year round. There are free museums and a café. The Merian Gärten border on Park im Grünen, another nice space to visit which has another big restaurant.

Merian Garten is a beautiful green oasis in Basel. The park is quite large and has a lot of space to stroll around, rest, and enjoy. It's especially beautiful during the spring flower bloom season so it's well worth a visit.

We were together with a small daughter, it was very quit and nice place. If you're interested in plants, you will enjoy from every square meter of the garden. There is a bistro there (overpriced like everything in Switzerland) to have a lunch/coffee and concerts on summer Sundays. If you're tired, just lay on the grass and relax. No good... More

It is really worth visiting the Merian Gärten. They are perfect to get away from the busy and hectic city. The best time to visit is during May and June when the irises are flowering! They are absolutely beautiful! Often they also have a plant identification labyrinth which is fun to walk through.

Nearly year around it is a fine place to experience plants from many different eco-zones. I often enjoyed taking my lunch with me during the spring to have a picnic. The Tropic House is by far the most interesting. There are several species of birds that are quite vocal so you get the feeling in part that you are really... More

Although located slightly on the outskirts of Basel, this is a very nice place for anybody looking to chill and relax a bit far from the madding crowd.
