Decent food to keep you going at a wonderful museum

Not a wide selection, but whatever is available is pretty good. Service is home-style friendly and staff is pleasant.

Check the opening time, I think it may be 11:00. Got there way too early, but did some side activities. Took a river powered boat crossing on the Rhine. Very interesting boat operator who chatted up a storm, gave us some postcards, and told us the history of the boat crossing. We also had coffee at the adjacent museum coffee... More

Great place for families because on each of the four floors you get to make things - paper, printing, marbling on paper. No need to buy souvenirs because these are " make it, take it."

Kids love this place. Its over 3 storeys in a real paper mill. You actually make paper from a cellulose mix on the ground floor, then try your hand writing with quills and bamboo pens on the 1st floor. And on the 2nd floor, a friendly gentleman helps you print an image of Basel on the paper with your name... More

Much more interesting than you might think. Pargtially a working paper mill where visitors have the opportunity to make their own paper with a watermark.Several floors of machinery , exhibits and cellars with wealth of information about paper making. There are also some workshops where visitors can try their hand at paper marbling etc.

This is a great museum, lots of interactive exhibits the staff were great with children too. It was fascinating to see how paper was made.

This was recommended by a fellow traveler we met elsewhere in switzerland. So glad we went. An appealing sight for all ages. Interactive for the children who made paper and printed onto paper. Fascinating morning spent here and fresh deliscious food at the cafe afterwards.

Great museum showing the history of the place. Has a water wheel round the side that seems mesmeric and can waste a lot of time just watching it. Give your self plenty of time to go round. There is a guided tour for 15 francs.

This is a fantastic place to visit with kids. They make their own paper, print on paper and learn about paper. Friendly staff who are all multilingual. Fra for adults too. The printing section was a highlight for me...
