Being able to easily walk there from our house, it is a great place to have a nice 1-2 hour walk and see the local flora and fauna. There is lots to see if you keep your eyes open, both inside the park and around the edges of the park.

The free zoo is situated here. Wild European cat, lynx, bisons, deer, monkeys, boars etc. can be found here as well as a lot of different birds: swans, ducks, stocks and so on.

It's a great walk through the park full of life and various animals freely moving within their natural territories and and nice landscape. It's possible to observe animals quite closely in their natural environment and without having a feeling of zoo.

Tierpark Langen Erlen has gone through a process of modernization / refurbishment autumn 2018 and I paid it a visit just now the first time after the completion of work (probably before the end of 2018). Free entrance, strolling around and primarily being able to see local animals as well as having just some airtime whilst walking through the park ... it's a great recreational area for any time of the year. Best reachable by bike or public transport, the parking lot is way too small to go there by car. In summer, take some swimmsuit or transportable BBQ with you to enjoy more time next to the park at the river Wiese or in the woods of Lange Erlen. Beautiful leisure outdoor location.

I love taking my dog here on walks to enjoy the nature and animals; such as monkeys, goats, horses, donkeys, owls, pigs and many more.

Beautiful outdoor animal park, free of access, great for families with children.
Lots of different types of animals including fox, lynx, buffalos, farm animals, and heaps of ducks.
Great outdoor playground at the entrance.
And nice restaurant to enjoy delicious flammekeuchens on premises as well.

Lovely park not far from Bad Bahnhof. You can get thee by bus stopping just at the entrance or just walk 30 minutes from the center. The park has huge children playground close to the entrance. I would recommend for walks and free time with children more than a way to watch animals.

The animals are not exotic but still special and the fact that you can see them in a habitat that is not a small cramped cage but a nice and large habitat. The facilities are not that great and there are no good restaurants around because you are in a park.

I love to go there with my son! The entrance is free, there is a big playground very close and there are always animals to see.
