The store is NOT closed. They have been having a big sale because they are going to do renovations, and do not want to have to move everything to storage or to a temporary location. They are very much alive! If you get to the location and it is closed I am sure they will direct you to a different location or let you know when the renovations will be done.

I Due Soli is just a short distance up the street between the Basilica of St. Francis and Piazza del Comune (the main Town Square) in Assisi. Here, one will find beautiful ceramic pieces and a selection that is unbelievable. From wine bottle toppers to larger pieces and works of art...you will find it in this beautiful shop. If you find a small item, you can take it with you. Too large an item to fit in your suitcase? No problem, you can ship it home. Don't miss this beautiful and easy to find family business. And say hello to Riccardo who speaks fluent English (and just might help you with your Italian!)

My parents used to come to this place before I was born; still Today this is my favourite place to buy the original majolica of Deruta. The family business keeps going and I think they are now at the third of fourth generation. The selection is amazing but the most interesting thing is that you can order anything you want because they are producers and they can make anything you want; be patient (but they always tell you) and at the end you will see your dreams come true. Grazie!!!
P.S. Ask to arrange a visit of the studio where you can see the steps of the production: pottery makers, painters, the kilns...it is like going back in time :-)

After decades spent offering the best on the world of handmade ceramics of Umbria, the store closed; on these days there is no more room for beauty and culture.
It is a shame that things like this happen but people like better junk and mass produced items, with no soul...I wish to everybody the best in the future...but I think that the future is pretty black :-(

I went to I Due Soli based on TripAdvisor reviews and I was well rewarded for my homework! I thought I would have trouble finding it but it was right there up the street from the Basilica! We were lucky enough to be the only ones there for about 10 minutes before we were joined by friends. The prices are amazing--items for every budget. Gifts for all your loved ones that they will treasure. The real treasure in the store is Riccardo!! Knowledgeable, helpful, he guided me to a whole collection of kitchen tiles! Thank you Riccardo.

I thought I wrote a review for this amazing shop. Ceiling to floor ceramics of every color and style! There were styles for every taste. Please don't bring small children in, or wear your backpack.
Ricardo was extremely helpful and knowledgable. Told me about his family and being in the ceramics business for a few generations. Heading back there in August and hope to make it to Deruta to see the family business. Definitely a must while in Assisi.

I stopped into this store originally to get out of the heat of the day. I'm so glad I did. The store has remarkable items - small things and grand. Riccardo, was there both times I was there in 2014 and 2015. He is friendly and very helpful. Stop in if you are in Assisi!

Does anyone know if I Due Soli is still in business? No one answers the phone number, the website is no longer active, and I haven't reached anyone by email.
They have beautiful ceramic items and would like to purchase additional pieces for my set.
Thanks!
