Assisi is a magical town and NUN Spa is one of the gems of this place. It is everything that the weary traveler/pilgrim needs. They have fantastic bodywork options and professionals ready to work out whatever ails you. The saunas and water treatments bring great peace and relaxation. I spent over 3 hours here with a friend and the only reason we left is because we were hungry. If you need a place to unwind your aching body parts from seeing the sights in Assisi then you can't go wrong here. It is a little on the expensive side but worth every Euro.

Experience keeps getting better. When you visit, please make sure you book a massage as well to get the most out of your experience. The staff are super helpful and very professional. If you go to Italy and like to relax, this visit has to be on your list.

They are bullying me. What ever happened to using this information to help improve their establishment? Instead they want only the "good" reviews shown and don't want people to know about the bad. TripAdvisor is a platform used to inform people about the pros and cons of a business. It's nothing new to the spa what I wrote, because I informed them of these problems before I posted them on TripAdvisor. Both the owner and their attorney have contacted me threatening to take legal action if I keep this review up, declaring I have defamed their business:
But by definition, defamation only happens if these are untrue allegations that I am writing about. But the spa employees, my family and I all know these are true. And he was informed of them before I posted this, as well...
Read below my (honest) review:
I went to this spa with my family of 6. My sister and I had to get the "couples massage", since that was the only availability they had. They told us it would be 150 euros for a 60 minute massage that started at 3pm.
Our therapists arrived to pick us up from the lounge at 3:03, walked us to the room and re-entered at 3:08 (I know this because my sister and I were commenting to each other about how late the time was before they walked back in). I had requested a deep tissue "nun" massage, but my therapist was not good and did not do deep tissue. She kept "flicking" off my body at the end of every stroke. Very strange.
At the end of the massage, the therapists covered our bodies with a warm towel and then just sat there a few minutes, doing nothing else, and then left the room at 3:52. They basically worked on us for 39-41 minutes and called it a 60 minute massage.
I would have given this a 2 star rating because we enjoyed the massaging pools, until we found a woman's sanitary napkin floating in the water. Things like this should not be missed by a luxury/ high end/ very expensive spa. We didn't see any attendants around to mention it to, so we had to wait until we checked out to inform them.
When we checked out, we told the front desk supervisor about the "problem" in the pool and she thanked us and said she'd immediately have it taken care of. She explained about the timing that in their spa, taking the robe off is part of the "experience". (But for 8 minutes? And ending 8 minutes early???) She also told me that the massages were only in the recent years been quoted as being 60 minutes, that they used to be advertised as shorter massages, and that this is something the newer manager had changed, saying they are 60 minutes. I explained it was false advertising. She promised to remove the fee of 1 massage (of our 6). While we felt this was not quite an adequate discount, we politely agreed. After we left, my mother said that 6 massages were still on the bill. I wrote to the spa and hotel managers as well as the owner. They wrote to me (in a generic way) that they were sorry for my disappointment and that my feedback will help them improve their spa. No explanation of why they would charge for a 60 minute massage and only give 40 minutes. (Needless to say, it's impossible for a spa to start every massage on the hour (3pm, 4pm, 5pm, etc.) and honestly give each person a 60 minute massage.) I believe in fairness and hopefully this will change their advertised times for the massages. The owner wrote to me some days later that we were given a discount of 40 euros off of 2 massages (that we paid 300 euros for!) rather than taking 150 euros off.
He never offered to make up for the amount missing from our discount. I did let him know that I would be posting this experience as a review on Trip Advisor and when I did, he and his lawyer threatened to take legal action against me. Makes me start to wonder why they don't have any other negative reviews... Hmm...
In summary, at this place, you DON'T get what you pay for. Better off going to another spa in Assisi instead.

Dear Madame,
this is the first time that we entrust a Tripadvisor review to our Lawyer and there is a reason for that.
In general, we have always drawn ideas for improvement thanks to constructive comment from our clients (only a few to be honest), but considering the libels that you are continuing to reiterate, we feel compelled to respond adequately to defend our image and the hard work took to achieve that, against unjust accusation that you are writing.
Regards,
The Owner

Although I am not staying at Nun Assisi Relais, I was able to get a tremendous deal on the spa and Nun Path through my hotel (Hotel Ideale). After averaging 7-10 miles/day of walking in Assisi, my feet and leg muscles were aching! Splurging on some pampering at Nun Spa was a welcome change.
I was given a locker, robe, towel. slippers and some shampoo/body scrub when I arrived. I was scheduled for 2 hours to enjoy the Nun Path with a massage to follow. The locker rooms have showers and hair dryers for the end of your visit.
The Nun Path begins with a steam room, then a dry sauna, then a cold room with chips of ice for an "ice bath" and ending with a dry room at a pleasant room temperature. It's recommended to stay for 10-15 minutes in the steam room and sauna, but I couldn't last that long! After chilling out in the tepidarium for a little while, I enjoyed the jacuzzi and pool. The pool has jets in it that benefit various parts of the body. I didn't read about the specific jets until after I'd left the pool. Ask the staff for written descriptions of everything in English before you go in. I would've liked to have know this information before I started.
The only draw back were some kids playing in the pool. It is the hotel's "pool" but it's really not intended for splashing around. It's a spa.
Before my massage I had tea and fresh fruit in the waiting area.
The spa is full service: facials, massage, nails, waxing... My massage was very relaxing and treated my sore shoulders, neck, feet, calves, etc. It finished with an all over sea salt exfoliation.
For the Nun Path and the approximately 1 hour massage/exfoliation, the special price I received through my hotel was a very good one. $120 for 3 hours of pampering and relaxation.

What happens when a 2,000 year old set of ruins is incorporated into the most beautiful day spa that I have ever seen! The various sauna rooms are well kept, the pool and Jacuzzi are lovely and the showers/changing rooms are very clean.
* If you are one that has only taken massages in the States, let me tell you that the Europeans are much less inhibited. If that's something that makes you uncomfortable, be sure to mention it to your therapist.

Went to the spa for a special treat with a friend visiting from Canada - The best way to describe this paradise in Assisi is as "an extra-sensorial experience". Absolutely awesome! The staff is extremely customer care oriented and I asked my masseuse if she was an "angel in disguise"! My guest, who travels all over the world and has visited and had many messages defined this one as "the best ever". STRONGLY recommended.
